Marc De Cock (Temse, BE) wins first national zone B Libourne against 2,222 yearlings

The fancier from Temse had already won a provincial victory from Cahors three weeks ago and now he has achieved his second important victory this season!

Marc De Cock has managed to have six pigeons within the national top 23 in less than a month, in five different races and in different weather conditions. This underlines the outstanding qualities and the enormous potential of today’s De Cock racing pigeons. They showed their talent in the flight from Libourne, which was quite a difficult one: we had hot temperatures and there was a brisk north east wind. In fact only 18 of 6,134 pigeons at national level were able to achieve a velocity of over 1000 m/min, including two pigeons of Marc De Cock! He had basketed seven pigeons for this race. He simply overpowered his opponents at local level, which lead to a series of top prizes and some excellent results at national level as well. Let’s have a look:

Libourne Local 160 yearlings: 1-2-3-16-27 (5/7)
         Prov 1,363 yearlings: 2-6-20-225 (4/7)
         Zone B 2,222 yearlings: 1-4-15-238-444 (5/7)
         Nat 6,134 yearlings: 5-17-68-834-1390 (5/7)

It is remarkable that both the first and the second place are won by a direct hen of Pros Roosen, paired to a pigeon with origins of De Rauw-Sablon/Aelbrecht.

If you would like to learn more about the parents of these exceptional pigeons please have a look at our auction program from January 2013, in which we take a closer look at the parents.

It is obvious that the big star, Marc De Cock, is having another splendid pigeon racing season. He sold his entire team of old birds in an internet auction last year and some of you might have expected him to perform a little less well this season. He only had a team of yearlings from 2012 and a couple of late youngsters from 2011 to start the season and still he has managed to have a splendid 2013 season so far. This proves that the Marc De Cock breed has a solid and a wide basis and it also shows that his team of yearlings consists of highly talented pigeons that will prove invaluable in the near future. Marc De Cock is still full of ambition and he is still dreaming of winning top prizes and important victories! The sky is the limit for him!
