Sizzling party evening from PIPA and Het Duivenblad

Not only was the Fugare exhibition a bestseller, but also the party evening from ‘PiPa’ and ‘Het Duivenblad’ which took place on Saturday evening directly after the exhibition in the Xpo-rooms in Kortrijk was a real topper!

Just over 3 years ago Nikolaas Gyselbrecht (from PiPa) and Kevin Roosens (from Het Duivenblad) decided to organise their annual pigeon party together, under a common denominator. It turned out to be an immediate success… only they had to search for an ideal location to give their party that extra touch and shine it deserves. Last year the first edition of the Fugare exhibition was directly a topper… and spontaneously the idea came to the two young entrepreneurs, to couplet heir party evening with this exhibition. The negotiations with the organisation could begin, and this led to a quick result. The first edition of this party directly following the Fugare exhibition last Saturday was a fact!

Spectacular party evening

The people fromUrban Communication responsible for organising the party evening, ensured a party evening which was perfect in every way! The 400 people who put their legs under the table enjoyed a delicious meal with a sumptuous buffet, a tender piece of  ‘Chateaubriand’ and accompanying vegetables for the main course, finishing with a just as sumptuous dessert table! Super tasty and presented, simply fitting for a party with ‘style’!

Virginie Claes was once again hostess, and talked the evening together in her well-known ‘smooth style’. Everybody noticed that her black shimmery dress was covering a round tummy… due to her being an expectant ‘mummy’, Andre Moonens called out attention to it once again in his interview with Virginie after he was awarded best ‘middle distance loft’ of het Duivenblad! Thomas Van Cauwenberghe (as chairman Board of Directors by PiPa, and replaced Thomas Gyselbrecht who was on his return journey from China) and Kevin Roosens (for Het Duivenblad) opened the party with their opening speeches and words of welcome. What followed was a party evening to be relished. There was the honouring of the ‘national champions’ in the various championships of ‘Het Duivenblad’, followed by the winner of the much coveted PiPa ‘IATP-Trophy’, to be won in the 5 international competitions with the first nominated, a trophy donated by the firm Jaegerson… which was won this year by our sport friend from Germany, namely the formation Kipp & Sohne from Althornbach! Nikolaas Gyselbrecht (as CEO of PiPa) also outlined how PIPA arose, the current structure and the ambitious plans for the future of PIPA as a company, including the plans for a splinter new company building which they hope to move into in 2014. it was ‘impressive’, proven by the spontaneous applause from the party goers!

Then it was time for the showbiz-moment of the evening, with Willy Sommers… who immediately got the audience on his side. Within the shortest space of time there was dancing, white napkins were swung in the air, there was even the ‘conga’ danced to his hits out his 40-year career so as ‘Lover forever’, ‘7 carnations 7 roses’, ‘Like a lion in a cage’, ‘Beautiful women’ – and possibly the most prominent message for us all - ‘Let the sun into your heart, it shines for everybody… enjoy life’… we’ll remember, Willy!

The party from ‘PiPa’ and ‘Het Duivenblad’ came to an end! Every partygoer agreed with us… or to put it into the words of Willy Sommers… it was pure ‘enjoyment’! With this new formula the organisers have clearly found the right concept… one that clearly caught on!
