Team Wicker and Wright from Astley Bridge were first open and first north-west section with a three year old on 918mpm over 690 miles. The team is a partnership between Alan Wicker and Steve Wright of the House of Aarden in Cornwall. Steve provides the birds which Alan races to his loft in Astley Bridge, in order to test them over the extreme distance. The winning pigeon is Never a Doubt, bred from excellent stock, being a double grandson of Padfield Iron Lady and a grandson of Matt Rakes' Indy.
Dickie Pearmain and Son of Wickford were second open and first east section with a yearling on 802mpm over 557 miles. The partners timed a second pigeon, a yearling on 718mpm to also take seventh open and fourth east section.
Third open and first west section was a yearling on 755mpm over a distance of 520 miles for David and John Staddon of Shepton Mallett. The Staddons timed a second pigeon, a two year old on 405mpm to also take tenth open and third west section.
G Preece and Son of Dover were fourth open and second east section with a two year old on 543mpm over 533 miles.
F Knowles and Son of Wingham were fifth open and third east section with a four year old on 749mpm over 540 miles. Simon timed a blue hen containing Mick Parish bloodlines and sent sitting seven day eggs. Last season it was nineteenth open Narbonne. Simon also took eighth section, thirteenth open with a five year old.
N Stevens of North Perrott clocked a two year old on 732mpm over 504 miles to take sixth open and second west section. Nick timed a pied hen sent sitting a two day old squeaker. The sire is a direct Padfield, being a grandson of Jack, Dave and the Dutch Hen. The dam came from Keith Cousins of Pembroke out of his own Padfield pigeons.
Kevin Foster of Longfield Hill was eighth open and fifth east section with a three year old on 715mpm over a distance of 540 miles.
Ninth open and first centre section was a three year old on 713mpm over 540 miles for Mark Gilbert of Windsor. This was a red cock, the sire of which was a double grandson of Euro Diamond, whilst the dam was Southfield Agen. Mark timed a second pigeon, a two year old on 674mpm to also take second centre section. This was a son of Golden Barcelona when paired to a double grand-daughter of Jelle Jellema's Orion. Mark had sixteen pigeons in the top twenty-five of the section result.
