First open and first centre section was won by D and J Novis of Brighton on 1824mpm over 230kms. Father and son, David and James, timed Brighton Belle, a early bred dark hen, bred from two of their best racers. The sire was bred down from Louella Van Loons, whilst the dam topped the federation for the partnership. David started racing many years ago, but as a young boy James was not really interested in the pigeons. However, now he is settled into a relationship, James has more time for the pigeons and Dave does all the loft's administration.
