A report on the British International Championship club any age race from Guernsey on 19th August 2017

Two hundred members entered one thousand three hundred and four pigeons into the British International Championship Club race from Guernsey. There were liberated at 08.30CEST into south-west winds. The following is a report on the provisional result based on members' verifications.

Micky & Sally Watts

Micky Watts of Southminster took first open and first east section with a four year old on 1501mpm over 338km. Micky's winner was a Vandenabeele hen bred from M and D Evans stock. It was sent to the race having just paired up to a new cock.

T Buckfield of Hockley was second open and second east section with a yearling on 1498mpm over 326km.


John Cowlin

Third open and third east section was won by John Cowlin of Hullbridge with a two year old on 1494mpm over 326km. John timed a Formula One Fans Zwols hen, the sire of which was Prince Rekkem. The dam was Dreamy, a daughter of Amor when paired to Dream Girl 200.


Gibbs, Chaplin & White

Gibbs, Chaplin and White of Basildon timed a two year old on 1492mpm over 315km to take fourth open and fourth east section. The partners timed a Herman Ceusters x Willy Stanaert hen sent sitting eggs.

A Hammond and Son of Burnham on Sea were fifth open and fifth east section with a three year old on 1478mpm over a distance of 336km.

Ken Wise of Isleworth was sixth open and first centre section with a yearling on 1472mpm over 269km.

D Heywood and Son of Laindon clocked a yearling on 1463mpm over 314km to take seventh open and sixth east section. Dave and Gary timed a great grand-daughter of The Blue Laureat from JPS Lofts. Their winner is a sister to their national winner, Celebration.


Frank Aloisio

Frank Aloisio of Canvey Island was eighth open and seventh east section with a yearling on 1454.8mpm over 315km. Frank clocked a Busschaert hen that had been raced on the north and then turned south.


Neil Emberson

Ninth open and eighth east section was a two year old on 1454mpm over 301km for Neil Emberson of Chatham. Neil clocked a Van Reet hen bred from his father's family of pigeons and closely related to his national winner, Ellie.


Lee Jackson

Completing the top ten and in ninth east section is P Jackson and Son from Bromley with a two year old on 1447mpm over 282km. Lee timed a direct daughter of Black Jack, the partner's ace racer when paired to a full sister to their previous Guernsey winner. These pigeons are bred dwon from Jos Thoné's Sars.

Around the sections

T and J Gunn of Rottingdean were second centre section with a yearling on 1425mpm over 269km.

D Deveson of Newhaven was third centre section on 1419mpm over 237km.


John & David Staddon

John and David Staddon of Shepton Mallett were first west section and one hundred and thirteenth open with a yearling on 1133mpm over 186km. The Staddons had two hens drop together, both bred from their Mark Gilbert stock pigeons, in fact the two are sisters. The sire is a grandson of Southfield Supreme, Drum, Gerrie and Lazergun. The dam is a daughter of their Gilbert Miracle Pair.


Prilly Hodges

Mr and Mrs Hodges of Templecombe clocked a two year old on 1107mpm over 171km to take second west section. Gary and Prilly clocked a Roger Lowe x Mark Gilbert hen raced on the jealousy system.


Clive & Jill Rogers & Neil Sales

Clive and Jill Rogers and Neil Sales were third west section with a yearling on 1085mpm over 202km. The partner's timer is a chequer hen bred from a cock purchased from Terry Preddy of High Littleton. The dam was purchased from Ray Strawbridge and comes from his old Padfield Family bloodlines.


Dudley Holmes

R Holmes of Low Fulney clocked a two year old on 1301mpm over 403km to take first north-centre section and firty-ninth open. Dudley timed a direct daughter of his BICC Le Mans winner when paired to a daughter of third open Midlands National and first section North Road Championship Club winner.

T Head of Willington was second north-centre section with a two year old on 1296mpm over 331km.


Clive Brown

Clive Brown of Alconbury was third north-centre section with a two year old on 1289mpm over a distance of 357km. Clive timed the same Jan Aarden hen that was first section for him from Le Mans last season.


David Downing

D Downing of Suffolk was first north-east section and twentieth open with a yearling on 1404mpm over 370km. The section winner was a Hardy Kruger hen bred from stock obtained from Premier Stud.


Graham Seaman

Graham Seaman of Dickleburgh was second north-east section with a two year old on 1366mpm over 414km. Graham timed Eve, bred for him by Trevor Booth of Lincolnshire. The sire is Adam, a half-brother to Marcel Sangers' Young Gun. The dam was bred down from Verbart 46 and Magnum Force.


Gary & John Hunt

G and J Hunt of Norwich were third north-east section on 1333mpm over 418km. John clocked a Gabby Vandenabeelke hen bred through Mick Bundy's Eisenhower x One bloodlines.


John Rodway

John Rodway of Rushwick was first north-west section and one hundred and second open with a two year old on 1177mpm over 299km. John timed a blue chequer hen on its first race of the season and sent flying to the perch.

Ray Scriven of Alveley clocked a three year old on 1145mpm over 331km to take second north-west section.


Nigel Matthews

Nigel Matthews of Bridgnorth was third north-west section with a two year old on 1129mpm over 330km.
