Peter Theunis (Hoeven, NL) wins the National ‘Eendaagse Fondspiegel’ Long Distance (Cat. 3) in 2022

National NPO podium spots and National 'Eendaagse Fondspiegel' 

The absolute highlight of 2022 for Peter Theunis (Embregts-Theunis), was winning the National 'Eendaagse Fonspiegel' Long Distance (Cat. 3). The steps which Peter has made in the recent years in the category Best Fancier (NPO/WHZB/TBOTB) is just as admirable. Since 2018, Peter has continuously been in the Top 10 of Best Fanciers in The Netherlands. With 3rd places in both 2020 and 2021, Peter stood on the national podium twice already. In 2022, Peter once again showed his class and finished as 2nd National Loft Champion NPO Not Nominated Cat. Near impossible results on long distance races

In 2022, Peter won provincial Top 10 results week in, week out. In total, Peter won 20x Top 10 results in the province Brabant 2000 against an average of 9,700 pigeons. Especially his performances on long distance races were exceptional. On the races Issoudun (24/24) and Chateauroux (20/24) in particular, Peter his pigeons were unmatched. With the 4th NPO Chateauroux (5,290 p.), a 7th and 10th NPO Issoudun (2,467 p.) and a 10th NPO Issoudun (6,438 p.) these pigeons flew straight to the top of the charts. 

The Millennium Pair, the Golden Pair and Super Rossi gave the Theunis colony an enormous boost

The Millennium Pair, which is formed by BE14-6074354 Mister Millennium and NL15-3535059 Millennium, has a huge impact on recent achievements in Hoeven. The hen Millenium is a daughter to Blue Rocket and descends from the Rocket bloodlines which are still valuable for Peter. The Millennium Pair has bred a legion of top pigeons. In 2022 however, the hen Millennium passed away. Nonetheless, this isn't the end of this highly successful breeding line. Direct children such as NL17-3714984 Olympic Millenium and NL17-1371054 Avatar have taken over as stock breeders from their parents. Another key breeding pair which is always coupled to each other is formed by NL18-1191415 Grey Millennium and NL17-3715065 Golden Ace. Together they form the Golden Pair. Grey Millennium is a son of the Millennium Pair. The hen Golden Ace is a daughter of the other crack, NL11-3024491 Super Rossi who thrived on the breeding lofts for years on end. Grandchildren of Super Rossi performed exceptionally well for Peter in 2022. As a breeder, Olympic Millennium is worth he weight in gold. In 2022, her daughter NL20-2030277 Olympia became 2nd Ace Pigeon Long Distance Old birds Afdeling Brabant 2000 and 7th Golden Crack Long Distance Brabant 2000 in Fondclub South Netherlands. Olympia won a/o 10th NPO Issoudun against 2,467 p. NPO winner and super breeder Avatar is one of the best sons of the Millennium Pair 

During his racing career, NL17-1371054 Avatar won a/o 1st NPO Quiévrain against 13,331 pigeons. After this victory, this son of the Millennium Pair moved to the breeding lofts of Peter Theunis. A golden move. In the meantime, Avatar is father of 6 Top 10 winner in different NPO races; 

The Golden Pair is a breeding sensation

The second top pair housed by Peter is formed by NL18-1191415 Grey Millennium x NL17-3715065 Golden Ace. Grey Millennium is a son of the Millennium Pair and thus a brother of Olympic Millennium and Avatar. Golden Ace is a daughter of top breeder NL11-3024491 Super Rossi. Golden Ace herself won a/o 1st Quiévrain against 5,214 p. and the 1st Quiévrain against 6,509 p. Together with Grey Millenium she forms a fantastic breeding pair. Together they are parents of a/o Super Ace (1st Ace Pigeon National 'Eendaagse Fondspiegel', 4th National Ace Pigeon, 5th National Ace Pigeon WHZB), Millennium Ace (11th National Ace Pigeon WHZB, 9th National Ace Pigeon), Miss Golden Eye (17th National Ace Pigeon WHZB Allround), Blue Diamond (1st NPO Grand Prix Melun) and above all they are grandparents of Pure Gold (1st National Ace Pigeon WHZB and 1st National Ace Pigeon PIPA Ranking). 

Blue Diamond takes over from the Golden Pair

In 2021, NL21-2127802 Blue Diamond won the 1st NPO Grand Prix Melun against 4,903 pigeons. This daughter of the Golden Pair has delivered some remarkable breeding results in 2022; 

Super Rossi

Lastly, there is no denying the exceptional breeding results of Super Rossi. Although he is no longer fertile, in 2022 his grandchildren show to have inherited fantastic racing qualities. A grandchild of his, NL22-2226455 Winning Daisy, takes a 4th NPO Melun against 10,233 pigeons and 6th NPO Orléans against 4,532 pigeons. 

Millennium Pair, Golden Pair and Olympic Millennium on other lofts

Of the few children from Olympic Millennium which are transferred to other lofts, promising references were received. For instance, Comb. van Wanrooij (Geffen, NL) has a daughter of Olympic Millennium who bred the 2nd Ace Pigeon Afdeling Oost-Brabant. Willem de Bruijn (Reeuwijk, NL), through co-breeding, has a daughter of Olympic Millennium ((Murphy's Millennium). This hen bred him multiple 1st Prize winners and NPO Top 10 pigeons, including the phenomenon Uranus Best Boy (12th Nat. Ace Pigeon Middle Distance Young birds PIPA Ranking) with a/o 2nd Quiévrain against 27,343 p., 5th NPO Morlincourt against 19,899 p. and a 10th Nat. S2 Pont. St. Maxence against 12,729 p.) Willem also houses a daughter of the Golden Pair. This hen became mother of three Top 10 Ace Pigeon in the federation Gouwe & IJssel. Bas Verkerk (Reeuwijk, NL) his 1st Ace Pigeon Long Distance Gouwe & IJssel was bred from a son of the Millennium Pair. In Frisia (Friesland), Jan Timmermans has an absolute crack called Super Millennium NL20-4211205 (granddaughter Super Rossi). This granddaughter of the Millennium Pair became 1st Ace Pigeon 'Noordelijke Unie', 1st Ace Pigeon Frisian Fondclub and 4th National Ace Pigeon NPO Cat. Long Distance Senior in 2022.
