Extreme long distance - also known as marathon - is a discipline in which pigeons with character separate themselves from the masses. Pigeons which have that little extra to push on and receive fame on National and International races. Often under tough conditions, these pigeons descend from icons which have proven themselves on these races. Moreover, top racers on the extreme long distance are often valuable breeders. In this auction on PIPA, the best extreme long distance fanciers offer the best they have. In this edition the lots include pigeons from a/o G. & C. With wonder pigeon Armando, Joël Verschoot owned one of the best Belgian long distance pigeons ever. Armando won both 1st and 3rd National Ace Pigeon KBDB by winning a/o 1st Nat. Angouleme, 2nd Nat. Limoges, 2nd Nat. Limoges and 10th Nat. Brive. Armando was the first pigeon ever to be sold for more than €1 million on PIPA. Joël continued racing with a/o children of Armando but also of National star Contador. He continues to perform at the highest level in pigeon sport. In 2022 for instance, he wins 1st Nat. Valence, 1st Prov. La Souterraine and the title 5th National Champion Long Distance Old birds. In auction are a selection of youngsters from the best children of Armando - but also the first children in auction from 1st Nat. A beautiful collection of top racers and breeders which led to a fantastic auction, in which the Ally pigeons were greatly valued. Not for nothing, looking at the world-wide succeses which are achieved with these pigeons. Norbert and Stefan continued with children of the icons which were so successfully auctioned. Hard to imagine a better foundation to continue with pigeon sport, and as expected the successes quickly followed. In 2021, they won 1st National Cahors, and several Ally pigeons ranked amongst the provincial ace pigeons.
