A report on the Central Southern Classic Flying Club any age race from Guernsey on 27th August 2022

Buddy Shipp
Twenty-four members sent one hundred and thirty-seven pigeons to Guernsey with the Central Southern Classic Flying Club, They were liberated at 08.50CEST. The following is a report on the provisional result based on members' verifications.

Buddy Shipp of Bedhampton was first open and first SE section with a yearling on 1311ypm over 116 miles. The dam of Buddy's winner was bred from a Donkere Leo cock that is a direct son of Donkere Leo x Princess Kittel. The sire is a Leo Hermans, bred from a grand-daughter of the dream pair from Ivan Lowden. 

Rod Rann

Mr and Mrs Rann and Son of Newport timed a two year old on 1280ypm over a distance of 97 miles to take second open and second SE section. Rod and Linda timed a widowhood hen that had been repaired once the old bird racing season had finished. It was sent sitting ten day eggs. 

John Halstead

John Halstead of Gillingham was third open and first SW section with a six year old hen on 1263ypm over 103 miles. This is the same hen that was first section from Guernsey with the BICC the previous week and is a daughter of the Vulcan hen, now responsible for seven section wins in classics and nationals. 

Diane Spracklen

Neville and Diane Spracklen of Dorchester were fourth open and second SW section with a two year old on 1227ypm over a distance of 84 miles. Neville and Diane timed a hen bred from Southfield Supreme x Mr Little Diamond. It was on its first race of the season and was sent looking at a new cock bird. 

Paul Stowell's hen

Fifth open and first NE section was a six year old hen on 1207ypm over 136 miles for Paul Stowell of Basingstoke. Paul's hen is a Noel Peiren x Etienne Devos and was bred from direct pigeons that Paul obtained from these fanciers. The sire is bred from Didi 930, Noel's best breeder. The dam is out of Etienne's Rivaldo and Patrick and also contains Didi bloodlines.

Booth & Roper

Booth and Roper of Tewkesbury timed a three year old on 1203ypm over 174 miles to take sixth open and first NW section. Trevor and John's hen was bred from their family of Jan Aardens with the original stock coming from Louella Pigeon World. It was sent sitting eggs. 

Mark and Clare Brown of Hungerford were seventh open and second NE section with a seven year old on 1198ypm over a distance of 143 miles. 

J Thompson of Frampton timed a two year old on 1175ypm over 140 miles to take eighth open and second NW section. 

Don Pembroke

D Pembroke of Reading was ninth open and third NW section with a yearling on 1152ypm over 153 miles. 

Lee & Maureen Dyer

Completing the top ten and in third SE section are L and M Dyer of Nettlestone with a two year old on 1146ypm over 105 miles.
