First open and first ES section was a yearling on 1751mpm over 203 miles for Mr and Mrs Hume of Rochford. Rob and Paula's winner was a Herman x Vererke hen sent sitting seven day eggs and bred out of the lines of Blauwe Leo x Dumbledore.
M Symonds of Rochford was second open and second ES section with a yearling hen on 1730mpm over a distance of 203 miles. Michael's timer contains Frans Zwol bloodlines and was bred by his good friend John Cowlin of Formula One Lofts. It was raced on the celibate system earlier in the season and then left to run with the young birds prior to the race from Guernsey.
Sparks and Dallas of Gravesend timed a two year old hen on 1728mpm over 185 miles to take third open and third ES section. The partners Frans Zwol x was twelfth open from Guernsey last season. The young bird they timed was bred from this hen and a cock that has won three x first federation.
Fagg and Nicholas of Hartlip were fourth open and fourth ES section with a yearling on 1698mpm over 188 miles.
J Donovan and Sons of South Croydon were fifth open and first CS section with a two year old, blue hen clocked on 1692mpm over 168 miles. Both sire and dam of this pigeon are in John's stock loft. The sire came from a batch of youngsters from Mr and Mrs Waterhouse, containing their Poortveilt bloodlines and was paired to a Hardy Kruger hen, sold at auction by Peter Ashby.
Fagg and Pullen of Canterbury timed a three year old on 1671mpm over 201 miles to take sixth open and fifth ES section.
Seventh open and second CS section was a yearling on 1662mpm over 174 miles for Damien Szpak of Deptford. Damian timed a son of Queen 85 when she was paired to first provincial ace pigeon. He had another ten pigeons drop quickly and eight of them were bred from Queen 85, his best breeding hen.
Mr and Mrs Rhodes of Aylesham were eighth open and sixth ES section with a yearling on 1660mpm over 203 miles.
Ninth open and third CS section was a two year old on 1657mpm over a distance of 170 miles for M and J Adcock and Son of Croydon. The partners timed a blue hen, the sire of which is Micky 9 x first, and the dam is Mayble, 7 x first. Both contain Rik Herman lines from Cowgirl, Friendship and also Herman Ceusters bloodlines from Di Caprio.
Completing the top ten and in fourth CS section are D Bullen and Son of Croydon with a yearling on 1644mpm over 169 miles.
Around the sections
John Halstead of Kington Magna timed a six year old hen on 1272mpm over 103 miles to take first WS section and 108th open. A consistent racer this hen won first section, eighty-sixth open Coutances in 2017. The sire is from Bert Corteels and the dam is the Vulcan hen. She is now the dam of birds winning five x first section in national racing. Just under four minutes later, John timed a blue yearling Kees Boshua cock.
Philip Boden of Frome was second WS section with a yearling on 1052mpm over 120 miles. Phil timed the same hen that was third section from St Philbert. It was sent sitting four day old squeakers.
Lanahan and Gerard of Poole timed a two year old on 928mpm over 91 miles to take third WS section.
Kevin and Lauren Grace of Kneesworth were first NC section and 75th open with a yearling on 1427mpm over 208 miles. The partners had three yearling cocks drop together and first on the clock was bred out of Jelle Jellema pigeons bought in from Holland.
Mr and Mrs R Bradford of Irchester were second NC section with a three year old on 1325mpm over a distance of 209 miles. Russell timed a grand-daughter of a grizzle cock that he purchased at Lier market many years ago. That cock itself won the section and fifty-seventh open from Tours.
Harry Jackson of Selby was third NC section with a yearling hen on 1137mpm over 299 miles. This hen was attacked by a sparrowhawk just before racing and needed eight stitches to repair the damage. It was her first race after the attack and she was sent sitting chipping eggs.
Chapman and Eastoe of Great Yarmouth were first NE section and 21st open with a five year old hen on 1595mpm over 286 miles. The partners timed the same pigeon that they had from St Philbert and it has now won the section three times, hence it has been named Three Times a Lady.
D and E Ball of Eyke timed a two year old on 1583mpm over 249 miles to take second NE section. Dennis and Elaine clocked a dark chequer, Vandenabeele cock flying on the natural system.
David Downing of Suffolk clocked a five year old, Hardy Kruger hen on 1581mpm over 229 miles to take third NE section. This hen was bred from his original Premier Lofts stock. It was used as a widowhood hen earlier in the season.
Booth and Roper of Tewkesbury were first NW section and 11th open with a three year old hen on 1220mpm over 174 miles. Trevor and John clocked a Louella Jan Aarden hen that has been a consistent racer. It was sent sitting three day eggs. The partners sent six and had all six home on the day.
John Rodway of Rushwick was second NW section with a two year old cock on 1216mpm over 185 miles. It was sent with its hen having just laid.
Mr and Mrs W Lewis of Kempsey were third NW section with a two year old on 1138mpm over a distance of 183 miles. Bill and Beryl timed a Jelle Jellema bred bird.
