She was born in the summer of 2002 out of 'De Witpen' from Cor de Heijde with the 'Sioentje' from Luc Sioen. The 'Witpen' NL00-2117637 Frans got from Cor was a son of the 'Diamantje', who in turn was a daughter of the 'Barcelonaduif' of Cor. Frans gave him the name 'De Witpen' because as a late bred in 2000 he had one 10th white pen with a black top in his left wing. After the moult in 2001 the white pin disappeared but he kept on going through life as 'De Witpen'.
The 'Sioentje', BE00-3040218, bought and selected at Luc Sioen, came from a brother x sister pairing of the 'Brecht' of R. Hoebrechts with the 'Briljantje' of Cor de Heijde. 'Brecht' was 1st Nat. ace KBDB 1992 and 'Briljantje' was a daughter of 'De Klamper' of Cor de Heijde.
After her great performance on Barcelona in 2005, winning the 1st National and the Golden Wing, she got the name 'Queen Tonny'. Queen because she was a winner and Tonny after Cor's wife. Only because she had to get a name quickly, there was a mistake in the spelling, because it should have been Tonnie.
After her national victory 'Queen Tonny' was not sold, but transfered to the breeding loft. Until 2015 she laid eggs when she was 13 years old and in the winter of 2019 at the age of 17 she died.
Queen Tonny in 2017 at age 15
We can say with certainty that keeping 'Queen Tonny' was the right decision for Frans because as a breeder she really wrote her name in bold letters afterwards, with already more than 90 grandchildren winning top 100 national!
But also among the ace pigeons of the last years, 'Queen Tonny' appears in the pedigree and especially on the Queen's flight from Barcelona.

After the theft of his pigeons, Frans has mainly bred with the lines of his stock pigeons. And especially with his stock pigeon 'Queen Tonny' to secure her qualities for the future. This has cost sacrifices on the racing loft but Frans clearly has a plan for the future.
Because of a field poisoning of the pigeons that were raced on a nest in the middle of the racing season 2021, after Barcelona only Perpignan could be played with following result:
Perpignan: 31-266-... National (4/8)
Barcelona: 246-479-791-963-... National (7/11)
