Hans-Paul Eßer is a born and bred pigeon fancier who is really committed to this sport. He actually sold his software company to be able to spend more time in the loft. He purchased a property in the city of Düsseldorf, where he started racing young birds for the first time in 2010. This fresh start from a new loft took place about four years ago, but it is worth noting that Hans-Paul Eßer had already won several important championship titles prior to his comeback in 2010. This means he did not have to start from scratch, as he already had a solid foundation in his breeding loft. He could rely on a group of top quality breeding birds, which he has been using to their full potential. He took the opportunity to make his way to the top in every competition and at every level. We suggest you take a closer look at the pedigrees of all ten pigeons in auction, just to get an idea of the enormous potential of these world class Hans-Paul Eßer pigeons. Hans-Paul knows what it takes to get your pigeons in great form during the racing season, and so we are not surprised to see him become such a successful fancier.
An endless list of top results
This was the title of an interesting article in the 2015 edition of the Röhnfried Courier magazine. An endless list of top results is the perfect description for the career of Hans-Paul Eßer. The passionate fancier from Düsseldorf has had a long and very successful career in our sport, and the only thing that matters to him is achieving top results. He focuses a lot on his breeding strategy. He races in his club Nievenheim in Regionalverband 413, which includes over 400 pigeon lofts and a total of 12,000 pigeons.
It was against these competitors that Hans-Paul managed to win the title of 4th champion in the Regionalverband, while finishing in 4th in the “Brieftaube” championship at national level. He might have done even better if the final race from Wels (638) had not taken place. It was a disastrous race; the first pigeons arrived home with a velocity of 1,454 m/min, while the last racing birds had a speed of only 907 m/min. The race continued for four hours, and many pigeons arrived at the wrong place. Despite this race, Hans-Paul has had a magnificent season.
Longer conversations with this pigeon fancier reveal that there is a real system behind his pigeon family. Keeping pigeons is actually quite straightforward: your breeding loft is the key to success. Hans-Paul aims to breed good quality pigeons and that is what he has done and continues to do in his loft in Düsseldorf. We take for example the cock 05369-08-969, winner of the title of 1st ace cock in the region in 2009 and 1st national ace cock 2010 and Olympiad pigeon in Posen 2011 in the all round category. This cock has developed into an exceptional breeding cock, which is part of Hans-Paul’s Dreampair together with the South African Queen. We were informed that the South African Queen is about to represent Germany in the 2015 Olympiad in Budapest, as the number one in two different categories. Her impressive palmares is listed in the picture below.
South African Queen
Another top quality breeding cock is Ryan NL 07-1044326, a 100% Gaby Vandenabeele pigeon and an inbred pigeon of the world famous Wittenbuik. Descendants of Ryan have won over 20 first prizes already, and he is also the sire of the first ace cock of Germany 2011. The breeding strategy of Hans-Paul is simply to breed youngsters from the very best pigeons available. There are not that many super class pigeons on the market but he obviously has some of them in his loft.

The pigeons on offer
We are only selling ten young birds but each one of them is highly talented. We take a closer look at some of these pigeons.
Two young birds originate from the breeding pair we mentioned earlier: the cock 969, 05369-08-969 paired to South African Queen SA 11-59701. The cock 969 was 1st ace cock in the region in 2009 and 1st ace cock at national level in 2014, as well as an Olympiad Pigeon in Posen 2011 all round. He is part of Hans-Paul’s dream pair together with South African Queen, a pair that has bred numerous top quality racing birds.
Two young birds originate from the pair Ryan NL 07-1044326 x the 5th ace hen BRD 2011 0672-10-1135. This Ryan is a Vandenabeele pigeon from the line of Wittenbuik, and his partner is a hen of Rudi Heinen, bred from two highly successful parents.
And then we have two more sensational young birds, which are full sisters of Golden Lady 05369-13-3152, a hen that was best one year old hen in 2014 with 14 prizes in 12 races and 995.07 ace points. She is also a candidate for the Budapest Olympiad in the yearlings’ category. Feel free to take a closer look at the palmares of this hen. It goes without saying she is very talented. Her sire is Super 90, an outstanding racing cock and first substitute for the Nitra Olympiad; the dam is Linda, a two time regional winner 2011 of Markus Neeb!
The other four young birds in this auction are in no way less appealing than the ones we just talked about, you can tell that from their pedigrees.
Good luck with your bets!
