Les Green (Manchester, UK) one of the best sprint and middle distance lofts in the UK over the past 25 years

Les Green has been a fancier for over thirty-eight years and has enjoyed an unprecedented twenty-five years at the very top of his game. Many pigeons have been housed at this great loft but the quality of birds has never been higher than the current day.

In the last two seasons, Les has won no less than sixty-five first prizes. His loft is not situated in the best location for the organisation which he flies with, as it is one of the most westerly within the club and federation, but despite this, his team of pigeons managed to win every single old bird, inland race in the club in 2017 and in all but one race they took the first four positions. In the federation Les won ten x first prizes and an amazing five x first combine.

Only four birds can be recorded on any club result, a rule that was brought in after Les once won the first thirty-five positions in one combine race. On many occasions he has had twenty or more birds come at the same time, but only four are allowed on the result. In addition to his own performances, Les has prvided many winners and breeders of winner for other fanciers all over the world, including first open national winners, first combine winners, first open one loft race winners, Royal Pigeon Racing Assocation award winners and countless club and federation winners.

In 2014, Les made an important decision to bring in pigeons from Stefaan Lambrechts, Dirk Van Den Bulck and the Flanders Collection, who had earlier bought the entire Bulck colony. Les' results improved as a result of these purchases and the 2017 highlights are, in the main, a result of these imports. In les' own words, "This current team of pigeons in my lofts are without doubt the best, fastest and most consistent birds I have ever owned." Les bought in five sons and two daughters of Kittel, direct children from the famous Goede Rode and Brother Goede Rode. Direct children from the super hens Rosita, Pithievierske 9998 and Golden Leo 4000. Children from Greipel and the Olympic Pair (sire and dam of Rosita). He also bought sixty pigeons direct from Stefaan Lambrechts, many of which have not been bred from yet, but the ones that have are all parents to first prize winners. Les also bought ten direct from Dirk Van Den Bulck. These Bulck and Lambrecht pigeons are different to anything Les has had in the past, being faster and more consistent than any before them. Total prizes for 2017 are thirty-nine x first, thirty-eight x second, forty-two x third and forty x fourth. One hundred and fifty-nine prizes in the top four of all races in 2017!
