On father's side the grandfather of the national winner finished in the national Pau top 100 three times: 19th, 50th and 70th. On mother's side the grandfather was 1st Provincial Ace Birds KBDB Middle Distance 3 years in a row.

The first arrivals of the first international race of this season have just been added on PIPA.

There seems to be a bit confusion concerning the coordinates of Pau (431830.0 N / 01905.0 W) because normally there should be a plus or minus sign before the coordinates.

After having contacted the organisation, we received the confirmation that there should indeed be a minus sign before the W coordinates since Pau lies west of Greenwich. So the correct GPS coordinates for Pau 2012 are: 431830.0 (N) / -01905.0 (W).

The Pau 2012 liberation is scheduled for Friday 6:30 CEST provided the weather conditions are good. The weather maps show that the wind will be blowing from the south to soutwest.

La Colombe Joyeuse made a few photos of the arrival of the pigeons at the liberation site at Wednesday evening 19:00 CEST.

8399 pigeons will participate in the first international race of this season, i.e. Pau. Last year, 8601 pigeons were basketted for Pau, 202 more than now.
