24/07/2018 - Without even knowing, Joost basketed a group of infected pigeons for the 2017 race from Barcelona. This, combined with the demanding and unpredictable weather, caused him to lose quite a few experienced racing birds that day. He was out for revenge: he claimed a 1st Int. Barcelona Hens (2nd Int.) and 5 national top 25 prizes, with the help of top breeder Joost.

09/02/2017 - We all vividly remember the impressive achievements in the extreme long distance races of Barcelona and Perpignan, which allowed Joost to win a title of 3rd, 4th and 5th National Ace Pigeon Extreme Long Distance KBDB 2016. The team of De Smeyter-Restiaen also won the title of 7th National Ace Pigeon Extreme Long Distance Yearlings KBDB in 2016, which made this an excellent marathon season at national level.

31/10/2016 - The pigeons of Desmeyter-Restiaen were exceptionally strong in the extreme long distance this season; they did particularly well in the races from Barcelona and Perpignan.

15/12/2015 - If there had been an award for best long distance fancier of Belgium in 2015, Joost De Smeyter would have been one of the big favorites. He is the winner of the international Pau 9,052 pigeons, and the winner of Euro Diamond, 1st Western-European Marathon, 2nd Nat. Ace Pigeon extreme long distance KBDB, and he had the best pigeon of Belgium over 3 international races. Impressive!
