Ahmad Majid (Assen, NL) once again proves that he has a unique collection of sprint racing pigeons, by winning the PIPA Ranking "Best young pigeon Vitesse in the Netherlands 2023 (4 prices)".

Every year we find Ahmad among the national champions in the sprint races in the Netherlands. At the basis of all these successes is a breeding loft that is built up with direct pigeons from international top fanciers such as Leo Heremans, Dirk Van den Bulck etc....
Ahmad Majid (l) and Leo Heremans (r)

3rd Olympiad Pigeon (cat. young birds) at the Olympiad in Romania '22, 9th Nat. Ace Pigeon Sprint PIPA Ranking '21, 2nd National Champion nominated young birds '22 and a 2nd, 3rd and 4th Nat. Ace pigeon young birds in the PIPA Ranking '22 are just a few of the highlights of recent years.  And 2023 will be listed as a successful year with, a.i.: 6th Olympiad Pigeon (cat. young birds) at the Olympiad in Maastricht '24, 6th World Best Pigeon (cat. Young birds) '23 and Best Young Bird Sprint races of The Netherlands '23 (4 prizes) in the PIPA Ranking. The latter prize was awarded at the Maastricht Olympiad on January 27. Special about this award ceremony for Ahmad was that good friend Leo Heremans himself was also present (see photo) at this ceremony. It goes without saying that Leo was also very proud of the result achieved by Ahmad. In addition to these highlights in '23, more about that later, the results with the young birds were also of an exceptional level last year. Due to busy work, the old birds were only raced to a limited extent, but the results are also impressive. Below you can see some impressive results (only 1:10 prizes are shown):

One of the absolute highlights of the past season was, as already mentioned, winning the PIPA Ranking "Best young bird Vitesse in the Netherlands '23 (4 Prizes)".

Responsible for this magnificent performance is the hen NL23-4701731 with the appropriate name 'The Queen'. Below her her honours list:

1st Nat. Ace Pigeon Sprint races young birds PIPA Ranking
6th FCI Olympiad young birds, Maastricht
6th FCI World best young pigeon
8th Ace young pigeon R1, Section 10

02/09: 1st Kerkrade V1 1.416 p.
09/09: 1st Kerkrade V1 1.245 p.
04/08: 6th Tongeren R1 1.590 p. (together with 5 loft mates) *
12/08: 11th Kalkar R1 1.726 p. (together with 9 loft mates) *
26/08: 22nd Venlo R1 1.572 p. (together with 16 loft mates)

* Both on August 4. (Tongeren) and on August 12. (Kalkar) ‘The Queen’ arrived at the same time with respectively 5 and 9 loft mates, so at the same time as the winner.

Looking at the pedigree of ‘The Queen’, it is quite logical that she performs so well in the races. Her father (NL20-1067792) is a son of ‘De Vooruit’ (BE14-6212027) X ‘Noortje’ (NL19-1031021). ‘De Vooruit’ is a 100% Leo Heremans and ‘Noortje’ was bred by Wendela Wiersema (1st Nat. Ace pigeon young birds sprint races, PIPA Ranking '19). The mother (NL20-1067733) of ‘The Queen’ is a daughter of superclass breeding pair Golden Kittel (Dirk Van den Bulck x Acy Cruijff).

As you can see from the pedigree of ‘The Queen’, her mother is a granddaughter of NL16-1056270, which brings us to the jewel in Majid's lofts, ‘The Legend Cruijff’. This pigeon is a topbreeder and a great number of his descendants have proven to be top pigeons, over the years. Especially when paired to the other top breeder ‘Mother Miracle’ (BE16-6189205).

NL16-1056270 The Legend Cruijff x BE16-6189205 Mother Miracle

Perhaps the most talented pigeon of this phenomenal breeding pair is ‘New Cruijff’ (NL22-4783403), who was 2nd National Ace pigeon sprint races '22. The pedigree of ‘The Legend Cruijff’ includes several Leo Heremans and Dirk Van den Bulck's champions, such as Kittel, Olympic Rosita, New Rossi and Olympiade. Mother Miracle’s’ pedigree again shows several top pigeons from Leo Heremans such as Prins Olympiade and Broer De Jan, but also Wonderboy from Stickers-Donckers.

Impressive performance on several One Loft Races (OLR)

It will not come as no surprise, that Ahmad's pigeons have also performed well at other lofts. Especially on the OLR, the performance is of a very high level. But before we put a few of these achievements in the spotlight, I would also like to share three references in the Netherlands and Belgium:

  • Bert Bloemen (Staphorst, NL) bred NL23-4707308 from a direct Ahmad pigeon. This young bird won no less than 9 prizes in 9 races and became 4th Ace pigeon young rirds of Section 10
  • Dirk Van den Bulck (Grobbendonk, BE) won the title of 1st National Ace pigeon KBDB sprint races young birds '23 with ‘King Arthur’ (BE23-6133516). The mother of ‘King Arthur’ is a grandchild of ‘Miracle 307’ (from a joint breeding with Ahmad Majid)
  • Gustaaf Boeckmans (Grobbendonk, BE) bred BE21-342 ‘Super Cruijff’ from ‘Sister Ace Cruyff’ (daughter Cruijff). ‘Super Cruijff’ became 2nd Nat. Ace pigeon young birds KBDB.  He has an impressive list of achievements: 1st Ace pigeon young birds Tienverbond, 2nd Ace pigeon young birds Prov. Antwerp, 2nd Ace Pigeon young birds Nat. KBDB, 1st Quievrain (1,751 p.), 4th Quievrain (1,620 p.), 4th Quievrain (829 p.), 5th Quievrain (940 p.), 10th Quievrain (1,528 p.) and 23rd Quievrain (1,729 p.)

Below, you will find several wonderful results on the OLR:

  • In Iraq, at the OLR Al-Muluk, the IQ22-6003650 (raced by Said Karrar Alarajy) was the 1st Ace pigeon '22-'23. This is a direct son of ‘Bolt Kittel’ (NL19-1734879) of Ahmad.
  • In Kuwait, Alkandari Loft won a 3rd of 3,459 p., a 26th 3,202 p., a 53rd 3,461 p. etc. in an OLR. This champion is a grandchild of ‘The Legend Cruijff’ (NL16-1056270) of Ahmad.
  • In Turkey, Ali Antalya won the one loft race Derby Kamikaze in '22 with the TR-22-07-4826 (Blue Kamikaza Magic). The mother of this winner is a daughter of ‘The Legend Cruijff’ x ‘Mother New 030’ of Ahmad.
  • At the Derby Kamikaze Season '23 Winter Olympics in Turkey, Ali Antalya won the 2nd prize with the TR-23-07-1298. The mother of this pigeon is a grandson  of ‘The Legend Cruijff‘ (NL16-1056270) of Ahmad.
  • At the race from Manisa Arena (170 km) in Turkey, Aly Antalya won the 1st prize against 1,203 pigeons with the TR-23-07-1213. The mother of this pigeon is a granddaughter of again.... ‘The Legend Cruijff’ (NL16-1056270) of Ahmad
  • With another great-grandchild (TR-23-07-1230) of ‘Cruijff’, Aly Antalya won the 38th against 7,573 pigeons and the 98th against 8,701 pigeons in the OLR Pattaya Int. Pigeonrace '23.
  • At the Alzaber Bricon Club Season '22-'23 in Iraq, Said Karrar Alarajy had the 1st Ace pigeon sprint races, with the IQ22-173679. This hen is another great-grandchild of Ahmad's top breeder ‘The Legend Cruijff‘ (NL16-1056270).
