The Portuguese Golden Algarve One Loft Race is an incredible yearly event in pigeon sport. Fanciers from across the world make the trip to see their favorites battle for the highest honor and over €1 million in prize money! At the end of July, the first training flights took place which ended on 19 August with a training across 115km. From then on, the Ace Pigeon program starts with races across 154km, 230km, 296km, and the final across 505km on 30th September. A total of 7,307 pigeons stood at the start of this race, which had a tough time on the longer distances. During the semi-final 3,941 pigeons were still in the race and 3,175 pigeons reached the final in which not one pigeon managed to arrive on the day of release. The winner was clocked while it was still pitch-dark outside at 06:15 on day 2, more than an hour before the silver and bronze medalist arrived. Thereafter, the pigeons came home regularly with 900 or so pigeons having reached the lofts on day 2. A tough battle. In this auction on PIPA, all the stars from the final and Ace Pigeon competition will be on offer. Strong pigeons, often from renowned bloodlines.

Youngsters from the best breeders
Team van Oss is one of the most prominent fanciers of the past years with many victories, ace pigeons, and championship titles up to the National level! With the passing away of Rien van Oss in 2022, the family lost an important pillar and the foundation of Comb. Van Oss was sold on PIPA. Son Irving decided to continue under the name Team Van Oss with the same ambition and quality on the lofts, building a new star ensemble. On PIPA, he offers a selection of pigeons from the old foundation. These include young birds from 2022, bred from the stars of the PIPA auction in 2022. The lots include youngsters from super children of Harry and New Harry, Kromsnavel and Nationaaltje, from PEC icons Porsche 911 and Prince Porsche and top racers such as Janne, Nettie, Anne, Issie, Gebroken Poot and Ineke.
Etienne Meirlaen (BE)
Complete team of widowhood cocks from 2021 and older in addition to several youngsters from 2023
The status of Etienne Meirlaen is renowned worldwide. Icons such as Yelena, Monar, Montali and the Marseille dynasty stood in the spotlights and dominated many international classics. Despite another sensational season in 2023, it wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows for Meirlaen. Etienne’s trusted helper – silent force behind many successes thanks to her help in taking care of the pigeons – is advised by her doctor to no longer enter the lofts. To handle the caretaking, Etienne decided to only race extreme long distance on the natural system in the future and no longer race widowers. He therefore decided to offer all his widowhood cocks from 2021 and older in this auction; a team that guaranteed top results in the past two years.
