First open and first CS section was a yearling on 1247mpm over 157 miles for Mark Gilbert of Windsor. Mark timed a good grizzle hen bred out of Grizzly Wonder x Bulck 113, a pair that are responsible for 9 x first BBO and Berkshire Federation winners. The same pair are the grandparents of last week's first open Carentan with the National Flying Club.
Ken Wise of Isleworth timed a three year old on 1227mpm over 166 miles to take second open and second CS section.
Derek Nicholls of Barry was third open and first WS section with a four year old on 1212mpm over a distance of 142 miles. Derek's pigeon contains 100% Jelle Jellema bloodlines and the sire and dam were both bred by Dean Pallatt.
Joe Raeburn of Melksham was fourth open and second WS section with a yearling on 1209mpm over 130 miles. Joe clocked a blue hen, sent feeding a seven day young bird. The sire was bought from Mark Gilbert and is a grandson of Jan Hooyman's New Harry. The dam was a gift from Paul and Esther Kenny and the sire of the dam was Esther's Lad. Esther's Lad was 4th open Ancenis, 15th open Fougeres and 14th open Messac with the NFC.
Dave Coward-Talbot from Chelmsford was fifth open and first ES section with a two year old on 1185mpm over 201 miles. David's timer was a blue pied hen, the sire and dam of which were both bred by Lee and Ian Sullivan of Brighton. The sire is from their Romein Kleine family and the dam contains Govaert bloodlines.
Dave Fare of Horfield timed a yearling on 1176mpm over 138 miles to take sixth open and third WS section. Dave timed a Vandenabeele hen bred by himself from a pigeon inbred to Shadow and obtained from his friend Rodney Horner. The dam is Psycho Sam from Mellonby, Knowles and Simpkin.
Mr and Mrs Beasley and Luke Oglesby were seventh open and third CS section with a yearling on 1171mpm over a distance of 152 miles. The partners had two yearling hens drop together, both had been on the darkness system. Their winning hen contains Roger Lowe's bloodlines, being a grand-daughter of Shirley Warren (1st open BBC) and Little Delight (1st open CSCFC and 2nd open NFC).
Eighth open and fourth CS section was a yearling on 1160mpm over 178 miles for Terry Haley of Watford.
Mr and Mrs Lewis of Kempsey were ninth open and first NW section with a three year old on 1151mpm over a distance of 182 miles. Bill and Beryl cocked a blue bar cock, sent feeding a two week old squeaker.
Completing the top ten and in Second ES section is a yearling on 1142mpm over 202 miles for John Cowlin of Hullbridge. John timed a Formula One Lofts bred Frans Zwols, with the dam being a daughter of Guernsey Princess, 1st and 3rd open BICC.
Around the sections
D Hunt and Sons of Great Hallingbury timed a yearling on 1134mpm over 201 miles to take third ES section.
Freddie Bannister of Doddington was first NC section with a yearling on 928mpm over 235 miles. Freddie timed the same hen as the previous Guernsey race, a daughter of Best Kittel Ornat x Sharia Kittel.
Shipton and Butler from Islip were second NC section with a yearling on 903mpm over 218 miles.
Third NC section was Gavin Cole of Gedney Hill who timed a yearling on 578mpm over 244 miles. This hen was bred out of Gavin's Red Fox Janssens crossed with pure Arendonk Janssen bloodlines.
Dave Downing of Suffolk was the NE section winner with a six year old on 1123mpm over a distance of 229 miles. Dave's pigeon is a 6-year old hen which contains Hardy Kruger bloodlines from one of his original pairs purchased from Premier Lofts in 2014. It has been used as a widowhood hen for the last two seasons so her races have been limited to the end of season any-age races.
Roly Rix of Newmarket was second NE section with a four year old on 1078mpm over 229 miles. Roly's winner was a widowhood hen containing Van Rijn bloodlines from his good friend David beach of Essex.
Third NE section was a two year old on 911mpm over 286 miles for Chapman and Eastoe of Great Yarmouth.
Paul Morrisey of Stoke on Trent timed a yearling on 1080mpm over 247 miles to take second NW section. Paul's winner was bred by Mark Evans and the sire is a direct son of Strain Maker. The dam is Golden Opportunity, dam to many prize winners.
Martin Williams of Hereford was third NW section with a yearling on 1062mpm over 176 miles. The sire of Martin's pigeon is a Jellema, the dam is from his old family of birds.
