Sangers pigeons successful worldwide

Those who have strengthened their colony with Sangers’ pigeons were invariably successful. This is a confirmation of the unique breeding capacities that have characterized the Dutch champion for so long.

Despite his eternally youthful appearance, Marcel Sangers has already passed 50. He can look back on a pigeon sport career, that started with victories from the very beginning. This began in the 1990s and has now been going on for more than 25 years. To refresh our memory, here are some of his most appealing highlights:

An eye for super pigeons

There are fanciers who are always one step ahead of the competition by investing in pigeons that make a difference… Marcel Sangers is one of those fanciers. In the nineties, he invested in pigeons from the Dutchman Bertie Camphuis, a decade later he knocked on Gerard Koopman's door… and in recent years it has mainly been pigeons from Dirk Van Den Bulck and Stefaan Lambrechts that, both pure and in crossing with his own old bloodlines, make the difference. In addition, Marcel and Brian obtained a wonderful selection of direct Stefaan Lambrechts pigeons, especially the line of 1st National Ace pigeon KBDB Lincia is very successful. The collection includes amongst others, 5 children of Lincia, 4 full brothers and 2 full sisters of Lincia who have clearly manifested themselves in the breeding team … but also children of all other Lambrechts stars strengthen the colony.

The interest in descendants from their pigeons is mainly due to the weekly top performances that Marcel and Brian manage, especially with the Van Den Bulck supergenes. Often via online auctions on PIPA, children from their very best breeders and racers move all around the world… and in recent years it turned out that many fanciers have been successful with their Sangers descendants. Gerard and Harold Calis can be seen as a subsidiary branch of Marcel Sangers. Sangers pigeons largely determined their rise to the national top. It is no surprise that their best breeders are direct Sangers pigeons … a short overview:

Another fantastic Sangers breeder is housed on the lofts of the Dutch super fanciers, Van Der Haar. Alexandre Margris (FR), National top performers bred from Skittel x Gold Dust lines

With Olympiad pigeons and National Ace pigeons, Alexandre Margris is perhaps the most successful French fancier of the past decades … he quickly saw the strength of the Sangers breeders and obtained his top breeder Bites The Dust from the top pair Skittel x Gold Dust … super son x best sister Kittel in the world. Peter Van De Merwe (NL); super successful with Sangers pigeons

It is no surprise that Peter Van De Merwe has close contacts to Marcel Sangers. His stock cock from the beginning of this century (Replay) came directly from Marcel Sangers … when he saw that the Van Den Bulck pigeons excelled in Eefde, he was at the front of the line to get his hands on the best … what to say of a child of Zulu (from son x sister Kittel) x Ruby (from son x sister Kittel), who bred the following cracks: 1st Lennik 39,125 p., 1st Nanteuil 2,189 p. / 7th Prov. 35.017 p., 4th Prov. Lennik 39,125 p., 4th Quievrain 3,531 p., 4th Niergnies 1,431 p.

At the Ningxia Senxiang One Loft Race, against more than 7,100 p., the 2020-26-0613306 excelled. He was bred from direct Sangers Pigeons cock NL19-1418325 Cashflow, who in turn is a son from Skittel (son Kittel) x Gold Dust (best breeding sister Kittel), and bought by Gong Ping from Xian. 1st Final Fauna One Loft Race 500 km

The Greek fancier Christos Karousos is very pleased with the purchase of direct Sangers pigeon NL19-1413758 that was bred from Zulu (from son x sister Kittel) x Ruby (from son x sister Kittel) ... a grandchild of Zulu x Ruby won the 1st prize in the final of the Fauna OLR 2021 across 500km and also took a 6th prize 110km, 9th prize 150km and 53rd prize 190km. 

1st Cuevas Classic OLR in USA

In 2020, the American fancier Phil Hubis from Lone Oak Loft bought the Sangers pigeon NL20-1254125 Gold Strike on PIPA. He is a son of Banksy (from Kittel x his own mother) x Gold Dust (best sister kittel in the world). Gold Strike bred the magnificent AU21-LOL-2124, who won the 1st Prize on the 148 mile race at the Cuevas Classic OLR against 998 p. on 15th November 2021. 

Gebr. Dekker (NL) excel with Sangers-Lambrechts pigeons

Marcel Sangers saw the potential of the Dekker brothers as upcoming National stars and decided, together with these ambitious men, to test a group of direct Sangers youngsters every year. This group of youngsters consisted mainly of pigeons with Lambrechts genes. It resulted in many provincial top results, in which superhen Olympia often played a leading role! She was crowned 4th Prov. Ace Pigeon Late tour Afdeling Zeeland with 8x Top 100 provincial spots... she also became 3rd Ace Pigeon Late tour Federation and 6th Ace Pigeon Short Distance Federation. She may even have more talent as a breeder, as her (grand)children won a.o.:

Olympia is bred form 2 direct Lambrechts pigeons; Atari (son Olympic Kittel) x Vichy (from Tiamo x sister Vale Jackpot).
