Jos Vercammen and his son Lars had a flying start to the 2021 season. They were immediately successful on the middle distance races from Melun (May 2nd: 1-2-4-5-6-7-10-11… against 1,670 old birds), and Sermaises (May 30th: 1-3-6-7… against 1,556 old birds and 1-3-5… against 910 yearlings). With these results the expectations for the first national races grew. This too was a success with a 1st Provincial Bourges against 4,313 old birds, and the fastest pigeon in the province Antwerp against 9,041 pigeons.
In the weeks that followed they continued to win from Sermaises (June 6th: 1-4-5-6-9-11… against 1,112 old birds and 1-3-4-5-7-12… against 644 yearlings), and La Chatre (June 12th: 1-3-5-8… against 337 yearlings). Proving their pigeons were in top shape, in the weekend of June 19th, they once again showed their class on races from Argenton and Melun.
Striking result on race from Argenton
Remarkably, Vercammen pigeons manage to achieve top results in all weather conditions and wind directions. Argenton was not an easy race, with variable wind (mostly headwind), a variety of sun and clouds and (especially in the West) several showers. Apparently, conditions that will not stop the Vercammen pigeons from racing home. Hok Jos Vercammen basketed a total of 40 pigeons (17 old birds and 23 yearlings), of which 7 managed to classify in the national 'Top-100'. 10 out of the 40 pigeons (5 old birds and 5 yearlings) managed to achieve a coefficient of 0....% (1:100). Furthermore Hok Jos Vercammen is the first fancier with 3, 4 and 5 pigeons on the results list, and the only fancier to classify more than 3 pigeons (namely 5!) in the national 'Top-100' old birds...and this with only 17 pigeons basketed. An incredible feat! Here are the results in numbers:

Managing such results week in, week out is an example of top class pigeon sport. Scroll through the following attachment to see an overview of Hok Jos Vercammen's results so far in 2021:
Super pigeons from super pigeons
In Vremde, this is the key to success. For years now, Jos and his son Lars' pigeons are contenders in the top of the national competitions in Belgium. Their stock is built up from 'able pigeons'. Performing at the top of the national races every week requires a strong base of talented racers. A quality that is plentiful at the Vercammen lofts. They prove this with their incredible results with pigeons at the top of the charts every week on a provincial, zonal and even national level. On Argenton, 4 pigeons where clocked within one minute. We are keen to further introduce the first 2 old birds and the first yearling:

At the Vercammen lofts, winners are bred from winners. A simple philosophy, but one which they build a strong stock of pigeons with. It is this quality that reels in magnificent results. The racing team has proven to be in superb shape in the first part of the season. Hok Vercammen will want to keep up this high standard towards the upcoming classics, and make this season a memorable one. Something to look forward to!
