Jean-Marc Thibaut.
An unbeatable consistency
While Jean-Marc earned his reputation mostly in the shorter middle distance competition these last few years, we almost forgot that he became famous for his results achieved in the national races above 400 kilometres. He classified one of his pigeons several times into the national ace pigeons of the longer middle distance, being kind of a pioneer in the south side of Belgium. This year once again, one of his pigeons was in top form to bring back something at the end of the season with three early prizes. Unfortunately, he got lost during the rest of the season.
The balance of the ace pigeons booked over the last 2 years remains quite impressive:
3rd National Ace Pigeon GMD Yl KBDB '15 (Vikie) 4th National Ace Pigeon GMD Vx KBDB '14 (Lola) 7th National Ace Pigeon GMD Yl KBDB '15 (Sylvie')
It was the same story for the Olympic qualifications. The Thibaut-Boons partnership has always qualified for Olympiad since Poznan in 2011! Let's have a look:
1st Olympic Pigeon Cat A Budapest 2015 (Niko) 1st Olympic Pigeon Cat H Budapest 2015 (Lola) 2nd Olympic Pigeon Cat H Nitra 2013 (Rihanna) 2nd Olympic Pigeon Cat H Budapest 2015 (373/12) 3rd Olympic Pigeon Cat B Poznan 2011 (Nels)
For the coming Olympiads that will be held in january 2017 in Brussels, they booked two other qualifications, being the first and the fifth pigeons for the Cat B (300 - 400 km, in 2 seasons).
1st Olympic Pigeon Cat B Brussels 2017 (Vikie) 5th Olympic Pigeon Cat B Brussels 2017 (Lauda)
2nd National Ace Pigeon Shorter Middle Distance KBDB
Several weeks ago, we published a report (click here to check the report) in which we talked about the 'takeover' of a breeding hen born in 2012 from Bart Geerinckx, a direct daughter of the famous Wittekop Sylvester. This hen was the mother of a cock who just booked an interprovincial victory from Bourges against 2,673 pigeons while she was already mother of Sylvie, 7th National Ace Pigeon GMD KBDB '15. She walked in the footsteps of Audrey, another famous breeding hen of this loft, herself the mother of the fantastic Olympic Niko, 1st National Ace Pigeon Shorter Middle Distance KBDB and Olympic Pigeon Budapest 2015. At the time, everything showed that she would become the new leading breeding hen. But the descendants of Audrey found it was maybe a little bit too quick. In fact, if Jean-Marc won this year the title of 2nd National Ace Pigeon Shorter Middle Distance KBDB, it is thanks to another son of Audrey. This new champion has been christened Lauda and he already showed his worth in the racing team in 2015. Even better: his performances from 2015, combined with those from 2016, made of him one of the belgian reserve for the category B. It was confirmed a few days ago and Lauda is the 5th Belgian Pigeon for the Cat B!
Audrey just entered the pantheon of the Belgian pigeon sport.
This new honorific title makes Audrey one of the best breeding hens of its generation. She is probably the only hen in the world who managed to become the mother of two Olympic pigeons during two Olympics in a row. Bought for a decent amount during the total auction of the late Pros Roosen, she became the mother of several champions at Thibaut-Boons, Lauda being the last one:

Another important fact about Audrey: she was bred out of the same crossing that bred Rodéo, father of Nikolaas (1st National Ace Pigeon GMD KBDB '13 at Casaert-Sénéchal). In addition to the fact that they were both coming from the lofts of the late Pros Roosen and that they were bought during the same day by their new owner, the most interesting fact is that they were bred from the same crossings, being a cross between the line of Flits and the line of Topbreeder Freddy. That this crossing so quickly resulted in two world class breeders is far from a coincidence. One is the father of a national ace pigeon KBDB in what's probably the most disputed discipline in Belgium, the other is the mother of a 1st and a 2nd National Ace Pigeon KBDB in three years of breeding. - Vikie (BE14-1011784)
Vikie is the second pigeon qualified in the category B for the coming Olympiads of Brussels and she will represent Belgium as 1st Belgian Pigeon Cat B. Last year, she was already classified as 3rd National Ace Pigeon GMD Yearlings KBDB!

We wish Jean-Marc all the best and hope that he achieves similar such dominating results in the coming years of racing.
