During the 2012 season Jean-Marc took the difficult decision to sell his entire colony, the same loft that has given him so much satisfaction with, amongst others, a title of national champion, a title of national ace pigeon as well as two olympic pigeons. All the best racers who made his name famous, Sebastian, La 12, Rihanna and co, were sent to the four corners of the world after a very successful auction. Only the pigeons born in 2012 were kept, so that he could make sure the story could be continued. The fanciers who knew him, mostly his opponents, were waiting for him and maybe some of them dreamt that he would never find his previous racing level. But he did. During the season, Jean-Marc, the maestro of the loft, was only focused on his pigeons who returned him the favour. Several victories were won and the name Thibaut-Boons was to be found at the top of several inter-provincial results in the national longer middle distance races. Better again: at the end of the season, Jean-Marc was to be found at the 4th place of the National Ace Pigeon Small Middle Distance Yearlings of the KBDB, very very close to the podium! This gives you an idea about the quality of the pigeons housed in his loft. When he decided to keep the 2012 generation, Jean-Marc was of course aware of what was available as it was mainly all the descendants of all his very best pigeons. The breeding line of the Pros has of course a central position in his pigeon breed. He also didn't have any reason to change his racing system, that he knows perfectly. After several (un)fortunate events, Jean-Marc also the possibility to keep his Olympic pigeons, Nels (Olympic Pigeon Middle Distance in Poznan 2011) and Rihanna (Olympic Pigeon Middle Distance in Nitra 2013). Needless say that these two pigeons are considered as exceptional purchases for any fancier in the world. As a good headhunter, our friend also purchased pigeons from a very high quality so that he made sure to strenghten his loft again. Take, for example, a daughter of the famous Wittekop Sylvester from Geerinckx L-B-J. He never looked at his pocket when it was time to obtain some new reinforcement. It's a principle he always took into account and now you see where it lead him.

Mother: Grand-daughter of the Pros, basis pigeon number 1 from the loft, father and grand-father of several champions.

Obtained as an egg from Etienne De Rauw, she achieved a terrific season in 2012 but her results were lower in 2013 after a wound she had at the beginning of the season. However, she was able to win a national top 100 position at the end of the season.

There is no doubt about it, the Thibaut-Boons partnership is back on the right track. Jean-Marc continue to go ahead. He is a fancier who is always looking for the smallest details who will allow him to become better again. It has always been the difference between the good fanciers and the others. We know Jean-Marc is a good fancier and someday, he will fulfil his biggest dream: winning a national race!
