Après un sprint millimétré, ils gagnèrent le rude Montelimar national (2005) 

Jusque tard dans la soirée du samedi 11 juin, les trois premières places se disputèrent pour ce dur concours. Pour la première fois cette saison, nous bénéficions d’un vent nord-ouest qui donne une impression de fraîcheur. Finalement, Jean & René Coenen, le tandem père-fils de Battice remporta avec 1135,797 m/m devant Saurey Guy, 1134,627 m/m et Remy Richard de Virelles avec 1133,984.
Au total ; 10197 vieux pigeons furent enlogés donc 1659 pigeons de plus que la première édition 2004.
Les concours de la Vallée du Rhône entrent clairement dans les goûts des amateurs en tant que préparation à des concours encore plus durs comme Barcelone , Marseille etc…

Le gagnant national :
Comme plusieurs fois déjà, il s’agit à nouveau d’un petit amateur qui suit des yeux les grands colombiers. Ou que pensez d’un colombier avec seulement 10 veufs et 8 yearlings.

Le gagnant national porte le numéro 1035715/2003.
En tant que yearling "Le Montelimar" remporta 4 prix jusqu’à 400 kms, c’est-à-dire Gien et Orléans.
Cette année, il vola d’abord un petit concours d’exercice de 110 kms pour aller après deux fois 260 kms à Nevers interprovincial, qu’il rate.
Le père a de la souche française et provient de Mr Louvegnies
La mère est une fille d’un pigeon acheté en 2000 chez le mondialement connu Sylvere Toye d’Otegem, fournisseur de nombreux pigeons d’élite dans le monde entier

Races élevées :
Il y a trois ans, on se reconvertit progressivement vu le maigre succès des concours de vitesse dans la région de Herve vers le demi-fond et fond.
On se procure des pigeons de colonies de haut niveau comme Callens-Broers, La Calamine, Smith de Balen et en 2000, un pigeon Silvere Toye Otegem. Il est également le grand-père du vainqueur national Montelimar.

Till late in the evening on saturday 11th of June there had to be done a lot of calcuation after finding out who won the first three prizes national on this hard Montélimar race! For the first time in the season we had a north / north west wind.
Eventually the father-son combination Coenen Jean & René from Battice won with a speed of 1135,797 meters/minute just before Sanrey Guy, living in Rosée 1134,627 m/m and Remy Richard from Virelles with a speed of 1133.984.
Totally there were 10197 pigeons basketted in Belgium ; 1659 pigeons more than last year ! The races from the Rhoney Valley are very popular as preparation races for the extreme long distance races like Barcelona, Marseille, etc...

The National winner :
Just like the last weeks, also in this case it is not a big fancier with big lofts that wins, or what is your opinion about a loft with only 10 old pigeons and an extra 8 yearlings like in the loft of this national winner ! It is a good proof again, that it is not necessary to have hundreds of pigeons.

The ringnumber of the national winner is 1035715/2003.
As yearling the "Montelimar" won 4 prizes till 400 km, from Gien to Orléans.
This year he only raced a training race from 110 km, afterwards he raced twice 260 km, and finally he went to the interprovincial race from Nevers, where he did not win a prize.
The father has french roots and does come from Mr Louvegnies.
The mother is a daughter from a pigoen that he bought in 2000, in the loft of the famous Silvere Toye from Otegem.

Strains
3 years ago, the father-son combination started to race middle distance and long distance races, because the speed races did not have a lot of succes in the region. Pigeons were bought in the loft of topcolonies like Callens-Broers , La Calamine, Smith from Balen and in 2000 a pigeon from Silvere Toye Otegem. This is the grandfather of the national winner from Montélimar.

Tot laat in de avond moest zaterdagavond 11 juni gecijferd worden om uiteindelijk de drie eerste plaatsen te verdelen van deze lastige nationale vlucht. Voor de eerste maal dit seizoen kregen we af te rekenen met een noord noordwesten wind, die een zeer frisse indruk gaf.
Uiteindelijk haalde Coenen Jean & René de vader-zoon combinatie uit Battice het met 1135,797 m/m voor Sanrey Guy, Rosée 1134,627 m/m en Remy Richard uit Virelles met 1133.984.
In het totaal werden 10197 oude duiven ingekorfd wat 1659 duiven meer betekent dan de eerste editie van 2004.
De vluchten uit de Rhone-vallei vallen duidelijk in de smaak als voorbereiding op het nog zwaardere werk uit Barcelona, Marseille...enz...

De Nationale winnaar :
Zoals meermaals moeten we terug spreken van een kleine liefhebber die de megahokken het nakijken geeft. Of wat denkt U van een hok met slechts 10 oude weduwnaars en nog 8 jaarduiven?

Als jaarduif haalde "De Montelimar" 4 prijzen tot 400 km, zijnde Gien en Orléans.
Dit jaar Vloog hij eerst een oefenvluchtje van 110 km om dan na 2 maal 260 km naar Nevers interprovinciaal te gaan ,waarvan hij miste.
De vader heeft franse roots en komt van het Mr Louvegnies.
De moeder is een dochter uit een aangekochte duif in 2000, bij de wereldberoemde Sylvere Toye uit Otegem, leverancier van meerder topduiven over de hele wereld.

Gekweekte rassen
Een 3 tal jaren geleden werd wegens het magere succes van de snelheidsvluchten in de streek van Herve, geleidelijk overgeschakeld naar de halve fond en fond.
Er werden duiven aangeschaft bij topcolonies als Callens-Broers , La Calamine, Smith uit Balen en in 2000 een duif Silvere Toye Otegem. Is tevens de grootvader van de nationale winnaar uit Montelimar.
