Sakis Minovgioudis gets 4,150 euro/bird – Auctions close with more than 2,000 euro on average for 135 birds

We saw an average sale price of over 2,000 euro for 135 pigeons on the first auction day of the new year, resulting in an overall revenue of 275,150 euro. We briefly discuss each auction.

Guillaume Decendre - 13 pigeons - 2,023 euro/bird
The 2019 1st Nat. Chateauroux was offered for sale, along with a few relatives. Daymond, the national winner, was sold for 11,200 euro, making him the most expensive bird. He goes to China. The 13 pigeons were sold for 26,300 euro in total, and they are moving to China (6), Taiwan (6) and Argentina (1).

Sakis Minovgioudis - 8 pigeons - 4,150 euro/bird
The total revenue for the 8 pigeons bred from Sakis's best racing and breeding birds was 33,200 euro. The most expensive bird is White Porsche, a cock from a joint breeding between Sakis and the PEC. He is worth 13,600 euro, and he is a son of Wacko Freddy and Daughter Meeuwke 12, which means he is a half brother of Porsche 911. He is moving to China. The second most expensive bird is Meeuwke 12 Next, who is a grandchild of breeding pair Supercracks Talent & Meeuwke 12 through both her parents. She was sold to a Canadian fancier for 7,000 euro. The other pigeons are moving to Belgium (3), China (1), France (1) and the United States (1).

Collectors Items - 27 pigeons - 2,828 euro/bird
The 27 pigeons were sold for 76,350 euro in total, and the most highly valued birds of this Collector's Items auction are Son Harry of Jan Hooymans, which goes to China for an impressive 18,800 euro, and two pigeons of Batenburg - Van de Merwe: Beauty Special One and Son New Laureaat. They were both sold to Kuwait for 7,600 euro and 6,800 euro respectively. The 27 pigeons are going to Taiwan (9), China (7), Kuwait (3), Belgium (2), Japan (1), the UK (1), Italy (1), The Netherlands (1), Qatar (1) and South Africa (1).

Patrick Lenaerts - 6 pigeons - 1,267 euro/bird
Patrick Lenaerts claimed the title of 1st Nat. Ace Pigeon KBDB shorter middle distance in 2019, and we sold a group of birds that are all related to this racing bird. A full sister, Exclusive Prime, received the highest bid of 1,900 euro; she will be moving to the United Kingdom. The other pigeons will be transferred to Poland (2), Egypt (1), The Netherlands (1) and Qatar (1).

Michel Dubois - 8 pigeons - 1,044 euro/bird
French long distance specialist Michel Dubois sold 8 pigeons for a total of 8,350 euro. The most expensive bird was Daughter Aristo, which goes to Belgium, just like four other birds. The remaining three pigeons were sold to French lofts.

Kurt & Ludo Haesen - 12 pigeons - 1,808 euro/bird
Kurt & Ludo offered for sale 12 of their best Barcelona racing birds for a total of 21,700 euro. The most expensive bird is Houdini, which claimed a 30th Nat. Barcelona last season. He goes to Japan for 5,800 euro. The second most expensive bird is Nafi, a 34th Nat. Barcelona 2019. She will stay in Belgium, and she had a sale price of 2,300 euro. The pigeons will be transferred to Belgium (6), Japan (4) and Taiwan (2).

Freialdenhofen & son - 11 pigeons - 1,277 euro/bird
The successful Freialdenhofen family sold 11 pigeons from their best breeders with a 14,050 euro total revenue. The most expensive bird is Son Barcelona Star; he goes to Taiwan for 1,900 euro, shortly followed by a son of a 1st Nat. Pau 2013, which goes to the United States for 1,800 euro. The pigeons are moving to Taiwan (4), the US (3), Sweden (1), Japan (1), France (1) and Germany (1).

Depasse-Lardenoye - 11 pigeons - 1,659 euro/bird
This auction, in which youngsters of the best breeding birds were sold, had an overall revenue of 18,250 euro. The most expensive bird is Daughter Francine, which was sold for 3,800 euro. The second most expensive bird is Grandson Di Stefano, which had a 2,700 euro sale price. Both pigeons stay in Belgium. All pigeons were in fact sold to fanciers from the Benelux: Belgium (9), The Netherlands (1) and Luxemburg (1).

Pieter Veenstra - 24 pigeons - 1,437 euro/bird
The 24 pigeons in this Miss Overegge Special were sold for 47,800 euro. The most expensive pigeon is Daughter King Rolex, which goes to Taiwan for 4,400 euro. The second most expensive bird is Daughter Blue Tornado, which was sold to a Chinese fancier for 4,200 euro. The pigeons were sold to lofts from across the globe: China (7), Taiwan (7), Belgium (2), The Netherlands (2), Germany (1), Poland (1), Qatar (1), Romania (1), Iraq (1) and the US (1).

Alfons Klaas - 15 pigeons - 1,437 euro/bird
A group of 15 birds were sold for 21,550 euro overall in this Purdey Special. The most expensive bird was Special Purdey 662, which goes to Kuwait for 3,200 euro. The remaining birds go to the US (4), Germany (4), Mexico (3), Qatar (2) and Canada (1).
