Annick Goeteyn, along with her daughter Kim, has decided to race under her own name in 2017. After selling her pigeon collection in February 2017 she eagerly started to create a new group of racing birds to represent the Goeteyn-Vanrenterghem pigeon breed. Needless to say, this new generation of birds consists mainly of direct descendants of the team's own stock pairs. After all, the pigeon lofts in Deinze are home to Tsaby x Kim and Orlando x Nicofelia, two of the most talented breeding pairs on the international scene. Among their descendants are numerous winners at provincial, zonal and national level (including a 1st Nat. Gueret YBs in 2011 in their home loft), as well as a number of national ace pigeons (for instance Gaby Vandenabeele's Super Romeo). The team's success story has been covered internationally.
A blazing start
It has to be said, Annick was off to a blazing start, with great results in the first sprint races of the season. It was as if she wanted to make a statement. It has been demonstrated repeatedly that this loft is home to some world class pigeons, which are led by a highly talented pigeon fancier. This team has grown to become a highly successful loft, thanks to a unique combination of fancier and pigeon. Here is a look at some of their best results in 2017:

It was a dream start! Winning top prizes almost on a weekly basis is quite a challenge, and it left the team from Deinze longing for more. They claimed a major win in the young birds' race on 22nd of July, winning a provincial first prize. Another victory followed one week later in Tulle, where the team had the fastest pigeon in East and West Flanders.
Since her pigeons are basketed in Waregem for the national races, Annick Goeteyn (who is based in East Flanders) can claim a provincial win from Tulle in neither province. Fortunately her winning bird was also the fastest in the zone, making her 1st Nat. Zone A2 and 3rd National yearlings. Here is a closer look at the two first prize winners.

Annick and her daughter Kim have managed to claim not one but two first prizes in their first season as an independent loft: a provincial victory from Blois and a zonal first prize from Tulle. It is often believed that a female touch can do wonders in your loft, and that seems to be the case here in Deinze as well. Congratulations!
Mr Gabor: a racing bird with a proven record and now a valuable breeder; he is the sire of a 1st Nat. Zone A2 Tulle 2,797 YLs
