Joksch-Bremen (Gelsenkirchen, DE): an impressively strong loft!

The two fanciers race separately: Manfred and Thomas Joksch in Oberhausen and Ratz-Bremen in Gelsenkirchen. The two lofts have always been successful, winning top prizes and victories one after the other. On top of that, they run a joint pigeon loft of top quality.

First of all we will discuss their racing lofts. These two fanciers have made great achievements over the years. We have summed up the most important results of 2012 below. Take your time to take a look at their most successful races. I think we can agree that these are impressive feats, which can only be achieved with first-class pigeons!

First we take a look at the results of the Ratz-Bremen loft. They have a slightly larger team of racing pigeons, which are always in the front in the regional races against large groups of pigeons. It illustrates the talent of the pigeons and the skills of the fancier.

The two friends, Manfred and Thomas do not have that many pigeons, yet they manage to win countless top and of course first prizes. We were curious about the origins of their pigeons. Their main bloodlines come from their joint loft, which we discuss below.

These were the results of the two lofts. Impressive work!

The fanciers (left & middle) in front of a few of their lofts

How did the two fanciers meet each other? After all the two lofts are not close. Thomas Joksch is a representative for Versele Laga, which means he comes into contact with a lot of fanciers. The two met each other at an exhibition. They started to talk and  it seemed they had similar views. In 2008 they started a joint breeding programme in Gelsenkirchen. They have 30 to 35 breeding pairs in their breeding loft. Ten pairs are housed in separate breeding boxes, to avoid unintentional breedings. All of their stock pigeons have had a DNA test with PIPA to be able to check their origins.

The breeding loft of Joksch-Bremen consists of excellent pigeons. The two fanciers have always tried to gather the best birds they could find and they succeeded. Their achievements in their own loft and in their joint family of pigeons make it clear that they are on the right track.

The stars of the loft

The super champion Rookie, NL 08-1660056, is the right name for this pigeon. He bred several excellent descendants and in no time he become one of the main breeders in the loft. This bird was in fact a risky investment for Joksch-Bremen. He is a direct son of Jonge Supercrack from Ludo Claessens, who sold the bird in his total auction on PIPA. At that time he was the most expensive pigeon ever sold. A few words about his origins: as mentioned his sire is Jonge Supercrack, NL 03-0375941, an outstanding racer and an even better breeder. He won two provincial races from Orléans in his career, in 2003 and 2004. The dam of Supercrack Rookie is Schoon Donker 83, NL 02-0271883, which is a daughter of Late Donkere, NL 93-1125375. Schoon Donker 83 was a great breeding hen for Ludo Claessens and was also the dam of Jonge Supercrack. This Jonge Supercrack and Schoon Donker 83 made a great pair: a combination of inbred and excellent bloodlines. In fact, Supercrack Rookie has only two brothers and one sister left worldwide. The most impressive thing about Supercrack Rookie is that he was already father and grandfather of eleven national and international ace pigeons and 42 excellent first prize winners at the age of two! This is quite astonishing and it makes his descendants very valuable.

Supercrack Rookie, NL 08-1660056, the no. 1
breeding bird; an original Ludo Claessens

In a previous report about Joksch-Bremen that was published on 21 July 2012 we included a list of all the descendants of Supercrack Rookie, who were all very successful. This extensive list gives you an idea of how many champions this top class bird has bred in a very short period of time. In fact there is now an entire team of sons and daughters in the loft of Joksch-Bremen who breed future generations of birds with the bloodlines of their grandfather Jonge Supercrack.

Luci Electric, 08857-10-201, is another important breeder for Joksch-Bremen. She is an original Jung-Jupid hen. She is still fairly young and yet she has already demonstrated her skills, breeding several sensational pigeons. She is the dam of countless first prize winners. All of her direct children that were basketed for races have won first prizes. That is not surprising, as she stems directly from Lucky 848, B 00-4065848, a wonderful Marcel Aelbrecht pigeon from De Rauw-Sablon. The parents of this bird are the B 91-4560548, a son of Albert x Paola and B 93-4429368, a granddaughter of Albert x Paola. This pair is of course the so called dream pair of De Rauw-Sablon, which you probably already knew. Many fanciers consider Lucky 848 as the very best breeding bird of De Rauw-Sablon. He is now in fact owned by the PIPA Elite Center and Jung-Jupid.

Lucky 848 was paired with B 08-4346828, a daughter of the famous couple bred from Bak 17 from Marcel Aelbrecht. This Bak 17 (with cock B 02-4333378 and hen B 99-4365061) is world class. Fanciers have offered a lot of money for the descendants of Bak 17. This is one of the most famous pairs of Marcel Aelbrecht. In fact Supercrack Rookie has also been paired with Luci Elektric.

The loft of Joksch-Bremen has of course a few other descendants of Lucky 848. There is for instance Luca, 08857-10-206, which is a son of Lucky 848 x Daughter Perpignan, B 04-4439151. She is the daughter of Perpignan, B 97-4263065, and Daughter Limoges, B 03-4316043, of Marcel Aelbrecht. Luca is sometimes paired with Luci Electric as well!

Luca, DV 08857-10-206, a son of ‘Lucky 848’
and ‘Daughter Perpignan’, B 04-4349151

They also own the New Lucky 848, 02585-11-848, which stems from Smallen II, B 04-4019907. This is a brother-sister pairing: the two partners stem from B 97-4263043; a brother of Lucky 848 x Daughter Marseille, B 01-4174034. The 02585-11-848 was paired with 02585-08-187 and they bred Lucky Punch, 02585-12-1108, who is a candidate for the 2013 Olympiad and will be offered for sale as well.

We could go further into detail about the breeding aces of Joksch-Bremen but that would take too long. We conclude by saying that Joksch-Bremen are the owners of one of the most valuable collections of De Rauw-Sablon/Aelbrecht breeding pigeons in Europe and possibly worldwide. An overview:

3 children of Lucky 848
3 children of BAK 10 Aelbrecht
1 daughters of BAK 17 Aelbrecht
3 children of De Michael Aelbrecht
3 children of Bruder Lucky 848
2 grandchildren of the dream couple Albert x Paola
2 half brothers/sisters of Miss Joice, Verbesselt
1 half brother of La Souterraine, Aelbrecht

This auction includes pigeons and some young birds of the very best breeding pigeons of a team with international fame. This auction illustrates the high level that is achieved by the two fanciers and their pigeon breed.
