Paul timed his two year old, chequer hen at 14.22 and it was closely followed by a second arrival which looks likely to take second open in the final result. Paul has previously won his section from all the North Road Championship Club racepoints, with the exception of Dunbar, so to take the top two positions from this racepoint is a dream come true for him. The winning bird contains Hereman Ceusters bloodlines, being bred from a dam direct from the Belgian lofts of Johan Van Herck. This dam's line goes back to Olympiad 003. The sire of the winner was bred by a friend of Johan's. The same pairing also bred one of Paul's previous section winners.

Paul's second on the clock was another Hereman Ceusters hen, bred down from John Wheatcroft's 25 cock that was raced by Trevor Taylor of Great Ayton. Both hens were showing jealousy around the loft prior to basketing, with the second to time being so aggressive she had to be taken to the marking in a separate box to stop her fighting. Paul races his pigeons on the chaos system with both cocks and hens being trained together, albeit released separately.
The next North Road Championship Club race will be from Perth on the 3rd June.
