A report on the British Barcelona Club race from Fougères on 29th June 2019

Two hundred and twenty-four members sent one thousand, six hundred and ninety pigeons to the British Barcelona Club second race from Fougères. They were liberated at 7am CEST into blue skies with no wind. The following is a report on the provisional result based on members' verifications.

Michael Lovelock

For the winner, Michael timed Pam, a racing hen named after his friend's wife who passed away recently. In the early 2000s Michael's work took him to Belgium where he met Astere Vergotter, a fancier who taught Michael about racing hens. Up until then, Michael had only raced the cocks. When he started up again in 2016 he approached Eijerkamp in Holland, purchasing many youngsters off their top lines. The Fougères winner is a Stefaan Lambrecht, second is a Van Loon and the third contains New Olympiade bloodlines.
