Over the last decade they made a name for themselves; Thomas Joksch and Thomas Bremen. The sympathetic fanciers from Oberhausen and Gelsenkirchen who were born with a pigeon in their heart and both blessed with a strong motivation to be the best … in business, in life; but especially in pigeons. The equality in thoughts about characteristics of pigeons and profiting optimally from their genes by well considered breeding methods are unique … the combination of their financial means enabled the champion-duo to compose a breeding colony that had to lead the way to the top … and that’s just what they did.
Combination of ambitions
Manfred and Thomas Joksch in Oberhausen and Ratz-Bremen in Gelsenkirchen are both very successful for a long period in pigeon racing. Always searching for good pigeons and talents in breeding and racing brought both lofts to the very best in their region … characteristic for champions however is to always want better and it is just that issue the two men discussed at their first encounter. As representative for the Versele Laga firm, Thomas Joksch talks to fanciers all the time; the philosophy explained to him at a pigeon show in 2007 by the extremely motivated Thomas Bremen met up to all his principles about making that extra step to the top …
Keyword in that shared philosophy is ‘the best’… Because that was the goal of both men; becoming the best in German program racing but also in International One Loft Racing … the way to that goal - the two agreed - was via the best pigeons available at the moment. And where was the top of International pigeonsport generally offered? On PIPA.be, for Thomas and Thomas for years the medium that informed them about the developments in Dutch and Belgian pigeon sport. And when PIPA started auctioning from the greatest champions in pigeon sport, they knew this was the podium to bring in their dreamed breeders … however, bringing in the best would ask for the best of investments ever done for them in racing …
Therefore in 2008 they started a joint breeding programme in Gelsenkirchen. Combining their budget to purchase pigeons was one of the most important measures taking to succeed in their goal; owning toppers no one else owns. Accommodation for 35 breeding pairs and 10 pairs in separate breeding boxes (to avoid unintentional breedings) was realised, that formed the home ground of new success and breeders of unequalled came …
‘Supercracks Rookie’; the perfect choice
Investing in pigeons is one thing; hitting the jackpot is another … The supreme Cees Van Koppen bloodlines of wonder couple ‘Real King’ x ‘Blue Queen’ - labelled as Best breeding couple of The Netherlands - together with lines of the old ‘Golden Couple’ formed the majority of the bloodlines in the Joksch-Bremen breeding colony; the quest for an individual reinforcement with the capacity to grow out to become base breeder, lead their focus to the auction of Ludo Claessens on PIPA in 2009 … He was considered to own the best middle distance colony of Europe and especially his nr. 1 breeder ‘Jonge Supercrack’ was well known for its supreme skills in breeding generations of champions … Thomas and Thomas pondered on a way to purchase the chequer inbred son to this legend ringed NL08-1660056.
NL08-1660056 'Supercracks Rookie' - one of the best breeders in the world
The first love is often the best love … it has been said many times before and it certainly counts for Joksch-Bremen and their new acquisition. He was called ‘Supercracks Rookie’ and has only 2 brothers and one sister in the world – being bred from ‘Jonge Supercrack’ x his own mother ‘Schoon Donker 83’ … the pedigree was extremely promising and since he filled his first egg, he proved to be worth the investment … and much more than that. He developed as Germany’s new top breeder. Up to 2012 he became father & grandfather to 11 Nat./Int. acebirds and winners of 42x 1. prize. In 2013 offspring won 15x 1., 1. Int. acebird Amazing Wings June 2013 & 13. Nat. championship 2013 … the success continued in 2014 when two great grandchildren were crowned 1. prov. acebird on 2 different premises; a direct son, 2 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren were co-winners of the 1. Nat. championship Germany & 1. prov. championship 2014. Together with many 1. prizes for Joksch-Bremen and at other lofts, performances were devastating.
