Peter & Dr. Hans-Peter Brockamp (Boppard, DE): a source for national and international top results!

Did you know that there is a loft in Germany that has an endless list of amazing results in the long distance and in the international races? Did you know that a lot of the pigeons bred in that same German loft become top class breeders in other lofts?

In fact this German family of pigeons is particularly successful in the international races and it has won several international first prizes. You know who we are talking about, Peter & Hans-Peter Brockamp from Boppard (DE).

Today we would like to take a look at the greatest achievements of the Brockamp pigeons in other lofts. However we will first give you the best results of their pigeons in their own loft in Boppard. This is an overview of their most important results at national and international level:

International winners:

1st International Perpignan 1999 against 17,584 pigeons with Armstrong
1st International Marseille 2005 against 13,930 pigeons with Marseille King

These were the most important achievements for the Brockamp family and it is a list that is hard to match. It seems that Peter & Hans-Peter Brockamp have a breeding loft with enormous potential. That is why we would now like to take a closer look at the highlights of these pigeons and their descendants in other lofts as well. If you want to get an idea of the quality of a pigeon breed you should always consider their performance in other lofts as well! The best way to assess the value of a breed is by looking at the results in other lofts. Again we limit ourselves to the most important achievements.

Highlights in other lofts in recent years

In 2012 G & S Verkerk have won a seventh national prize (and 13th international) from Bordeaux and a 15th, 31st and 50th national from Narbonne with four children from three different Brockamp pigeons. “These are amazing results, especially because it was the first time that we took part in the two big races of the two day long distance competition”, says Bas Verkerk.

A first international prize from Bordeaux (835km) in 1999 for Harald Schröder from Aachen (DE) against 11,644 pigeons with his Super Bordeaux (DV 06720-98-559). This pigeon was actually a gift from the Brockamp family for Harald. This race was so hard that only three pigeons arrived home on the day of the release. The sire of this bird is Heribert from Herbert Stoffel (Dorsten, DE) and belongs to the line of Marseille Star from Wim Muller crossed with Golden Barcelona 270. The dam is an original Georges Carteus (BE) hen that stems from Bonten Barcelona, grandfather of four national first prize winners.

A first international prize from Barcelona (1,200km) 2007 for Menne & Daughters from Hamminkeln (DE) against 25,716 pigeons with Susi (DV 05583-04-980). Susi is a granddaughter of Armstrong and Venus from Peter & Hans-Peter Brockamp!

A first international prize from Perpignan (910km) 2010 for Wilfried Bruyneel from Mater (BE) against 15,857 pigeons with Perpignan (B 07-4104426). Perpignan is a great-grandchild of Euro Diamond and Agata of Peter & Hans-Peter Brockamp! Wilfried Bruyneel obtained the sire of Perpignan in a raffle.

A first international prize from Perpignan 2010 yearlings for Ad Fortuin from Strijen (NL) with Perpignan Girl (NL 09-1170904). Perpignan Girl is a granddaughter of Euro Diamond from Peter & Hans-Peter Brockamp!

A first international prize from Bordeaux-Agen (814km) 2011 for Mark Gilbert (UK) against 11,444 yearlings with Blue Bordeaux Hen (GB 10 N 1265). Blue Bordeaux Hen is a granddaughter of Euro Diamond and Mistral from Peter & Hans-Peter Brockamp!

A first national from Bergerac (782km) 2006 for Harald Schröder from Aachen (DE) with De Bergerac (DV 06210-05-845). De Bergerac is a great-grandchild of Super Bordeaux from Peter & Hans-Peter Brockamp!

A first national from Montauban (834km) 2007 for Harald Schröder from Aachen (DE) against 717 pigeons with De Montauban (06210-04-653). This national winner was also fourth international against 3,632 pigeons. De Montauban is a great-grandchild of Super Bordeaux from Peter & Hans-Peter Brockamp!

A first national from Bordeaux (862km) 2010 for Dieter Tetz from Jülich (DE) against 1,655 pigeons with De Bordeaux (DV 01351-09-646). De Bordeaux is a grandson of Agata and a great-grandson of Armstrong from Peter & Hans-Peter Brockamp!

A first national from Marseille (802km) 2012 for Peter Nitsch from Boppard (DE) in the hens’ category with DV 06720-11-27, an original Peter & Hans-Peter Brockamp hen! This hen has also won the second national Marseille for Germany.

A second national from Bordeaux (825km) for Harald Schröder from Aachen (DE) against 1,909 pigeons with his ‘857‘ (DV 06210-05-857). The 857 is a granddaughter of Super Bordeaux of Peter & Hans-Peter Brockamp!

A second national from Marseille (988km) 2012 for Daan Besseling from Oisterwijk (NL). This was the only pigeon from The Netherlands that managed to arrive home at the day of the release. She was a granddaughter of Euro Diamond from Peter & Hans-Peter Brockamp!

A fifth national from Perpignan (1,002km) 2011 for Hugo Batenburg-van de Merwe from Klaaswaal (NL) against 5,607 pigeons with their hen Little Diamond (NL 09-1137480). She also won the sixth international prize against 15,107 pigeons. Little Diamond is a granddaughter of Euro Diamond, which was paired to a daughter of Armstrong from Peter & Hans-Peter Brockamp! In 2012 Hugo Batenburg-van de Merwe has also won the second national prize from Bordeaux.

‘The Machine’ played by fancier T. Marshall & Son (UK): this is one of the best long distance pigeons in Great-Britain. The dam of 'The Machine' is a double granddaughter of 'Euro Diamond'.

NL10-5018071 'Euro Marseille': second national Marseille against 3,680 pigeons in 2012 - 8th international Marseille 11,314 pigeons in 2012. The pigeons were released at 6h40 with a strong mistral and in hot weather and this was the only pigeon to arrive home at the day of the release, although it had to cover an additional 90km compared to the shortest distances in The Netherlands. This pigeon was clocked at 22h44'18" after dark and after having covered 945 km in 16hrs 4min 18sec. The second pigeon arrived in The Netherlands at 5h41'42" (the next day) for a distance of 974km: it took him seven hours more to cover an extra 29km. A clear victory for 'Euro Marseille!' The dam of 'Euro Marseille' is a direct daughter of 'Euro Diamond' 06720-09-1712.

The 10-3032880 'Super 80 II': fifth National Ace Pigeon ZLU 2012, 17th National Bordeaux 4,447 pigeons 2012 (released at 7h00, clocked at 18h50'58" for a distance of 892km), 44th International Bordeaux 10,724 pigeons 2012, 39th National Narbonne 4,303 pigeons 2012 (released at 8h15, clocked at 21h22'44' for a distance of 945km) and 250th International Narbonne 13,092 pigeons. The dam of 10-3032880 'Super 80 II' is a daughter of 'Perpignan 06', which is a direct Brockamp.

This is only a short summary of a long list of sensational top prizes won by the pigeons of Peter & Hans-Peter Brockamp in other lofts. As we said, the best way to assess the quality of a family of pigeons is by looking at their results in other lofts. The performances in other lofts should never be neglected, because they give you an idea of the breeding quality of the pigeons. That is what a fancier is looking for when he wants to buy a new pigeon: he tries to find a pigeon with good breeding qualities to strengthen his own breed and to reach a new level in pigeon racing.

In this auction of Peter & Hans-Peter Brockamp we have only included racing pigeons that have not been breeding in 2012.
