Freddy and Jacques Vandenheede (BE, Kruisem): General Champion of Belgium in 2012, 2017 and again in 2018!

They had already won this championship in 2012 and 2017, and the Vandenheede brothers have now managed to add another title of General Champion of Belgium to their palmares in 2018. This is quite a feat!

The proud Vandenheede brohters

Jacques and Freddy have been making quite a bit of history as pigeon fanciers. They have an extensive list of achievements that is several pages long. For now, we will only discuss their best results of 2017 and 2018. The 2017 season was a major success, with several championship titles:

2 x Olympic...

It takes a collection of world class pigeons to win so many championship titles. You need a group of birds that have an edge over their opponents. It turns out the Vandenheede Brothers have plenty of pigeons in their collection that can make a difference; we will take a look at some of the big stars of this team:

Olymic Tygoo, 2nd Olympiad Poznan category C

Olympic Tygoo (BE15-4130410) is the type of pigeon that every fancier would like to add to his collection one day. He was excellent in 2017, winning a 51st National Limoges of 9151 pigeons and a 52nd National Limoges of 14,937 pigeons. He then went on to win a 7th national Tulle of 4169 pigeons, a 12th national Angouleme of 4525 pigeons and a 13th national Jarnac of 5371 pigeons in 2018. This resulted in a title of 2nd Olympiad Pigeon 2019 Poznan category C, after having already won a title of 2nd and 16th national ace pigeon long distance in 2017 and 2018. Click here for her pedigree.

Olympic Mercy, 2nd Olympiad category B

The second Olympiad pigeon of the team is Olympic Mercy (BE15-4130412).  She excelled in 2018 with a 5th Provincial Vierzon of 7369 pigeons, a 9th National Chateauroux of 8640 pigeons and a 15th National Argenton of 11,823 pigeons, and she was 2nd Olympiad Pigeon category B. It is no coincidence that she is a granddaughter the team's stock breeder Mattheo. Click here for her full pedigree.

Cuckoo and Wonderful Lady

Cuckoo (BE15-4130035):  this pigeon felt very at home in the demanding 2018 season, in which we had many races in strong headwinds. His pedigree explains why: he is a grandson of New Freddy, which won himself the title of 1st Nat. Ace Pigeon Longer Middle Distance KBDB 2010 in races with similar conditions. Grandfather New Freddy is also a half brother of Mattheo. This is Cuckoo's palmares:

1ste Prov Chateauroux 3,115 p. ’18
1ste N.Zone Chateauroux 5,334 p. ’18 – 8th Nat. 18,893 p.
1ste provincial Argenton 2,400 p. '18 - 5. Nat. 11,823 p.

Wonderful Lady

Quite a talent

And we end our overview with anoter very talented bird that is likely to win some top prizes in 2019: Django (BE18-4097094). This promising newcomer won three top prizes already in 2018: a 5th National Argenton of 6398 pigeons, a 13th National Chateauroux of 4035 pigeons and a 49th National Chateauroux of 5438 pigeons. It resulted in a title of 6th National Ace Pigeon longer middle distance 2018. We are eager to see what the 2019 will bring! His pedigree can be found here.

Top breeder Mattheo leads the way
