Davy Tournelle ( Rummen, BE) takes 1st and 2nd provincial Montluçon old birds

With the extremely demanding conditions over the last couple of weeks and the predicted high temperatures, the race from Montluçon was anticipated to be a tough event. And yet, it proved a major success for the Tournelle pigeons, who claimed a 1st and 2nd provincial of 708 old birds. The team from Rummen had every reason to celebrate.

Montluçon on 6th of July 2019: an arduous race

Many fanciers were afraid that the race from Montluçon would be extremely hard. Many feared for the worst, with temperatures of 30 degrees and more and thunderstorms being forecast. And it proved an arduous race indeed, with many pigeons still on their way home by the end of the day. Davy Tournelle was not very confident either, since there were still about 20 pigeons missing that evening. But the pigeons that had managed to arrive home have made up for it, winning the following provincial top prizes:

708 old birds: 1-2-4-10-11-34-35-36-37-51-59-63......12 x per 10 and 33/62

1063 yearlings: 3-21-22-27-32-50-67-69-78-84-88-91.....12 x per 10 and 29/70

The 2019 season

Team Tournelle tends to race with a large number of birds, as you can tell from the results below. However, you should always keep in mind that the caretaking, training and basketing of your pigeons is a full-time job, and it takes a lot of pigeon racing experience to stay on track for an extended period of time. Their results in the provincial and national races below clearly indicate that Davy has plenty of experience indeed.

The near future?

The Tournelle family is now working hard to get their young birds ready for the next few provincial and national races, and the results in the preparatory flights are quite promising. We are confident that they will be producing some great results in the next few months, along with the old birds and the yearlings. Best of luck.
