The combination Thibaut-Boons (Sombreffe, BE) has just been crowned national champ KBDB for the second year in a row!

After they climbed to the top of the Belgian pigeon sport in 2014, the partnership Thibaut-Boons stayed on the top in 2015 with the title of champion and three classifications obtained in the national championships of the KBDB!

The national titles are accumulating, again and again.

The season 2015 has been a fantastic one and the national championships results are:

1st National Champion Middle Distance KBDB (record coefficient of 6.1866%)
3rd National Ace Pigeon Great Middle Distance Yl KBDB
7th National Ace Pigeon Great Middle Distance Yl KBDB

Last year, the results of the harvest were even more impressive:

1st National Ace Pigeon Shorter Middle Distance Old Pigeons KBDB (Niko)
1st National Champion Shorter Middle Distance Old Pigeons KBDB
3rd National Champion Longer Middle Distance Old Pigeons KBDB
4th National Ace Pigeon Longer Middle Distance Old Pigeons KBDB (Lola)
9th National Ace Pigeon Shorter Middle Distance Yearlings KBDB (424/13 - son of Niko)

With such titles to his name, this loft is part of the actual top 3 of the best Belgian racing lofts! Moreover that ten years ago, Jean-Marc already won the title of National Champion Yearlings KBDB as well as the 1st National Ace Pigeon Middle Distance KBDB. It wasn't the first time that the racing loft from Sombreffe climbed to the highest rung of the national podium. It's also quite impressive to notice that this loft is booking top performances both in the middle distance and in the national great middle distance races, so at the highest level as he competes against the biggest names of Belgium without being situated at the best geographic position in the country. In 2015, no less than twelve national top 100 positions were won while the number of pigeons basketed has always been small:

National top 100

17 Bourges 21.522 yearlings
27 Châteauroux 1.987 old birds
31 Châteauroux 1.987 old birds
38 Châteauroux 25.710 yearlings
43 Bourges 9.256 old birds
43 Châteauroux 1.987 old birds
48 Châteauroux 1.987 old birds
53 Montluçon 16.262 yearlings
55 Bourges 14.496 yearlings
57 Montluçon 16.262 yearlings
71 Bourges 14.496 yearlings
88 Châteauroux 1.987 old bird

But what is even more remarkable is that Jean-Marc auctioned his best pigeons during the winter of 2012. His first Olympic pigeons and his first top pigeons in the national races: they were all spread across the world. Only three years later, the partnership is back at the top, even better than before. That's why we asked ourselves: how is it possible to reach so high level in so little time? We already talked about the management and the quality of the pigeons as possible explanations. It's of course on this last point that we wanted to insist. Firstly, the pigeons of this loft are doing very well in others lofts and this is probably the most significative element if you want to know more about the quality of a loft.

Secondly, Jean-Marc always liked the motto that if you don't go forward, you will go backward. That's why he always stayed vigilant on the market to strengthen his loft when he thought it would be a good reinforcement. Of course, he set his mind to get pigeons able to bring him something more. Otherwise, it won't be useful. His last top reinforcement was made when he obtained a daughter of the famous Wittekop Sylvester from Bart Geerinckx, a pigeon he purchased during the winter of 2013 on PIPA. Her first youngster to be a racer was a direct winner christened Sylvie, a pigeon who just won the 7th National Ace Pigeon GMD 2015! A direct hit!

This year, two yearlings hens did well as they both get a classification in the national championships, being respectively 3rd & 7th National Ace Pigeon Great Middle Distance KBDB. They were christened Vikie and Sylvie. It's time to meet them:

As you can see, the season 2015 has been (again) a very good one for the Sombreffe colony. This partnership continues its pursuit forward without anything disturbing. They just won their second national title two years in a row (first time ever?), this time with a record coefficient record. Who did better?
