Luc De Laere has been dominating the field in West Flanders almost all season. He has now won his seventh provincial first prize with the young birds, one week after his first prize from Blois and two weeks after winning the first five prizes in Orléans.
It was bound to happen: he had already won four provincial second prizes earlier this season, and in the weekend of 8 July Luc has claimed a double win, taking a 1st Provincial from Orleans and Chateauroux. This adds to a total of no less than 25 provincial first prizes.
Luc De Laere has been winning a remarkable number of top prizes in recent weeks, adding no less than 9 top 5 placings at provincial level to his palmares.
His palmares for 2016 includes the title of 1st Prov. Ace Pigeon Longer Middle Distance Old Birds KBDB, as well as 3 provincial first prizes in 2016 and 4 provincial top five ace pigeons KBDB!
The team has already won three provincial first prizes this year, from Chateaudun, Chateauroux and Clermont. This means Luc De Laere has been just as successful as last year. The first prize from Chateaudun was unsurprisingly won with a son of the invaluable racing and breeding pigeon Tiekes Bliksem.
It was top class racing bird Jerommeke that won his second provincial first prize from Chateauroux on 16th of July. He was also the fastest of 2,083 pigeons in the province of West Flanders. The following day Luc had the fastest pigeon in Clermont WVOU against 9,812 young birds as well. It was quite a successful weekend for team De Laere!
Luc De Laere can look back on a splendid 2015 season, with three provincial first prizes and two provincial second prizes. It adds to a total of no less than 20 provincial victories since 1995.
His winning hen was First Lady, which took the win against 16,457 young birds with a velocity of 1391.16 m/min. She was also the fastest of the entire field of 18,612 pigeons.
Team Luc De Laere had a wonderful weekend: they claimed a provincial first prize from Tours yearlings, and they had the fastest pigeon in the province in the middle distance race from Fontenay sur Eure WVOU against 16,001 pigeons. Quite impressive!
Saturday 7 June was quite a dramatic day for Luc De Laere, who experienced any fancier’s worst nightmare. Luc’s Sproete Tieke (BE11-3115645) missed out on a national victory because Luc failed to perform a time check.
Sproet Tieke (BE11-3115645) was the fastest of 39,835 pigeons with a velocity of over 1800 m/min, but it did claim the national victory from Chateauroux because its control ring had been clocked too late.
It takes great skill to breed an ace pigeon but the De Laere family seems to have developed the skill to breed ace pigeons for several years in a row.
These are the top performances from Belgium in the weekend of 07/09/2013 and 08/09/2013. These are the last Top Performances Belgium of the 2013 racing season. We would like to thank all the fanciers who sent in their results this season!
Maurice and Luc from Anzegem (West Flanders) have been performing at a high level in recent seasons. They have also won a number of important titles, including first National Champion KBDB Middle Distance Old Birds 2002 and first and second Provincial Ace Pigeon Middle Distance 2001 and 2002.
Again, father and son De Laere have achieved great results this season, from the sprint to the longer middle distance. Their pigeon family of Tieke and Bliksem is in full force.
This weekend the pigeons were treated to cloudy weather with a strong wind blowing under their wings. Even with these very high speeds our fanciers achieved nice results!
The past weekend brought us long awaited beautiful pigeon weather, ideally suited for the first interprovincial races of this season. Last weekend there were a lot of top performances.
The colony of Maurice and Luc Delaere became famous in the first years of the new millennium when their super crack the ‘Tieke’ was crowned ‘Provincial Ace bird Middle Distance KBDB’ West Flanders for 2 years in a row, and also won the title of 1° Nat Champion Middle Distance KBDB!
