This ranking takes into account your 12 best results won in all races with a distance of between 60 and 799.999km that are part of the provincial racing competition. At least two results needs to have been won in a race of between 500 and 799.999km. The pigeons in this ranking have to be born in 2017 or earlier. As for the sprint and the middle distance, this ranking is based on the results that were won in the competitions that have been acknowledged by the province AFTER the union competition. They need to count at least for the national championships sprint. As for the long distance, we take into account the results won in the provincial competition overall. (If this is not possible due to asynchronous releases within a single province, we take into account the largest possible joint competition within the province.)

It is often said that a female fancier can do wonders with pigeons, and Annick Goeteyn illustrates that season after season. She added another 13 first prizes to her palmares this season, including a provincial win from Orleans, and she had the fastest old bird in West Flanders both in Bourges and Chateauroux. Well done!

31 pigeons were sold on Sunday, across four smaller auctions. Here is a closer look at each event.

Barcelona Triple 5 is Erik Limbourg's sensational new racing bird. He started his impressive triple in 2017 with a 5th National from Barcelona, and he won the exact same prize again in 2018. On top of that, he also claimed a 5th National Perpignan this season. Or that is what was supposed to happen at least.

After the DVV-Pigeons auction at the end of 2017, the combination started the 2018 racing season in a slightly changed form. It was the start of a new challenge and a new adventure for Johan De Vroe and Rudi Vandeputte.

He claimed more than 26 first prizes, he won a 1st Zone B1 from Gueret, he claimed a 2-3-4-5-8 on a single day, and he even won the first 15 prizes in a single race. It goes to show that the Benny Steveninck pigeons were once again outstanding in 2018; they were at times impossible to beat!

Several years ago Simeon Monev got involved in the pigeon sport and since then he has gone from strength to strength. He has built his family of Desmet-Mattjs pigeons around one particular pigeon, De Crazy 204 (BE04-4143204), a granddaughter of the famous de Gullit (BE92-4490676).

Harry drew out his last breath in August, and his descendants paid homage to this fantastic pigeon, delivering some fantastic results over the course of the 2018 season. We zoom in on some of the most remarkable results.
