09/02/2017 - Pigeons usually have ten primaries. However, exceptions with eleven primaries occur. The way in which this feature is inherited, has been unravelled after fifteen years of research and almost 500 test results. The expression of this characteristic is based on three genes, acting together.

09/02/2015 - After having tested a lot of parentages by DNA, we thought it would be nice to publish some statistics of how many parentages were tested as correct parents or not. We have included 1241 recent parentage tests and 3617 samples for this evaluation, meaning we can make some very nice conclusions in general for racing pigeon breeding.

06/02/2014 - LDHA is the gene that stands for a lactate dehydrogenase enzyme in racing pigeons. This is an enzyme that is responsible for the recycling of lactate (into pyruvate) in the muscles. Pyruvate can be burned again by muscle fibres.

27/05/2013 - The Queen of England celebrated her Diamond Jubilee to mark 60 years as the country’s monarch in June 2012. The Midlands National Flying Club organised a race from Fougeres in France to lay tribute to this great occasion. The decision was made by the Club’s committee to not only arrange the race but also to make a film of the event.
