The race from Bourges and the team of De Munter & Sons; it seems to be a perfect match. At least that is what the results tell us! The statistics don’t lie.

In the past ten years Adrien De Munter and Sons have won:

2nd  NATIONAL BOURGES 15,581 yearlings 2001
2nd  and 22nd NATIONAL BOURGES 10,829 old birds 2006
7th  ZONAL BOURGES 3,420 old birds 2011
11th and 85th NATIONAL BOURGES 13,116 yearlings 2002
40th NATIONAL BOURGES 9,781 old birds 2011
62th NATIONAL BOURGES 10,182 old birds 2004
76th NATIONAL BOURGES 16,771 yearlings 2008

The entire team (from left to right): Tom, Bas and Adrien De Munter

They were present for this year’s race from Bourges on the final weekend of July. They belong to the Eerlijk duurt het langst Moerbeke club. For the national from Bourges 36 pigeons had been basketed: six old birds, twelve yearlings and eighteen young birds. Everybody was looking forward to Sunday 29 July, the day on which the birds were released from Bourges at seven o’clock (with a one day holdover). The pigeons have not disappointed the team of De Munter & Sons at all. The first pigeon arrived home at        11 h 51 after a flight of 422 km. About thirty minutes later 12 of the 18 old birds and yearlings were clocked. The young birds arrived at the same time. These were the results at local level:

- 1, 7, 9, 10, 14, 72, 73 and 80th (8/12) of 369 yearlings;
- 17, 36, 37 and 56th (4/6) of 250 old birds;
- 3, 5, 26, 37, 83, 129, 162, 180 and 210th (9/18) of 665 young birds.

This makes a total of 21, about a half of them were in the top ten percent. There was of course the first prize for yearlings as well.
At a provincial level (East-Flanders) they did great as well:

- 1, 23, 38, 41th... of 2,175 yearlings
- 12, 17th ... of 6,871 young birds

The most important result this weekend was of course the first provincial against 2,175 yearlings!

Every time 4161426-11

At first sight this seems like an unusual name for a provincial winner from Bourges. He was given this name because he has NEVER missed and he has won a prize every time, hence the name. As a young bird he has won six prizes in six races in 2011, four of which were won in the top ten percent This season, as a yearling, Bourges was his tenth flight and he has won 20 prizes with duplications, 16 of which were the top ten precent and 13 were a top-7: 1-1-1-1-2-2-2-2-4-4-6-7-7. Let’s take a look at the prizes that were at least per 1:

- 13/5 Noyon : 18/208;
- 26/5 Angerville (303 km) : 2/388, overkoepeling 2/849... each time after a loft mate;
- 02/6 Angerville : 4/292, overkoepeling 4/793;
- 09/6 Angerville : 1/224 and 1/128 old birds, overkoepeling 2/685 and 7/456 old birds;
- 07/7 Blois (398 km) : 6/210, FCD 7/453 and provincially 67/2,563;
- 15/7 Orleans : 12/361;
- 29/7 Bourges : 1/369, FCD 2/684 and provincially 1/2,175

Every Time is a very talented pigeon you can count on!

Results 2012

This was another great season for De Munter & Sons. They keep on winning first prizes and often they win the first two, three or four, and yes, sometimes even the first five prizes. They have had countless top prizes (per 10) and their prize percentage is very high.
