The first Hotspot of the Pyramids OLR in Egypt was raced across 151km with headwind. Stefaan Lambrechts was victorious. His pigeon reached a speed of 1098 m/min and was fastest of all 1,289 basketed pigeons.
The Pyramids OLR in Egypt is one of toughest One Loft Races on the African continent. Nearly all the races are flown with headwind. A total of 306 fanciers and 3,163 took part in the edition of 2023. After many training flights, it was finally time for the first real race of the program.
Looking at the pedigree of the winner, we find the Venus bloodlines of Stefaan Lambrechts. Venus became 1st Nat. Ace Pigeon KBDB Middle Distance at Stefaan. Father of the winner is a son of Ynthe, 9th Nat. Ace Pigeon KBDB Middle Distance and grandmother of Venus. On mother's side, we find a direct Luc Vervoort pigeon.
