‘De Vriend’, BE03-6254818, was a top racer for Jos. He won 1st Prov. Bourges, 2nd Prov. Bourges, 2nd Prov. Orléans,... And those performances had not escaped the eye of Gerard Koopman. He came to buy 'De Vriend' in Itegem. This top pigeon became father of 'Jerson', NL10-5011833, Olympiad Pigeon 2013 cat. Fond. Jerson in turn is the sire of Leandro, super pigeon in SCMDPR 2016 South Africa and grandfather of 1st and 3rd NPO for R.C Bakker in 2015.
'De Vriend' is a grandson of 'Goldwin' (Johan De Belser). 'Goldwin' in turn is grandfather of super breeding hen 'Palme d'Or' (Gaston Van de Wouwer), mother of 'Amalia' & 'Nikolaas', both 1. Nat. Ace Pigeon KBDB!
Van Eynde-Goovaerts
Out of a half-sister of 'De Vriend', Van Eynde-Goovaerts bred 'D'Ardagnan', BE13-6095093, a super breeder in Putte. This half-sister of 'De Vriend' is also grandmother of the top pigeons Obelix & Asterix at Van Eynde-Goovaerts.
Hok Van den Bruel
And in Hok Van den Bruel, 'D'Ardagnan' is also great-grandfather of 'Morris', BE22-6044625, 1st Nat. Ace Pigeon KBDB 2022.

It goes without saying that the line of 'De Vriend' runs like a thread through the colony of Jos Maris. Everything starts with 'Goldwin' of Johan De Belser. Nestbrother of his other top breeder 'Den 500' and 'Goldwin' is grandfather of icon 'Palme d'Or' (Gaston Van de Wouwer). Jos was able to acquire a pair of youngsters from 'Goldwin', namely 'Johan', BE01-6346180, and his nest sister 'Heidi', BE01-6346181. 'Johan' is the father of the aforementioned 'De Vriend', but 'Johan' is also the father of grandfather 'Yazoo', 2nd Nat. Ace Pigeon KBDB Middle Distance 2017.
'Heidi', nest sister 'Johan', is the mother of another stock pigeon of Maris. She is grandmother of 'Rosse 014', BE09-6111014. You can see which champs were bred out of that line below...

Jos crossed this line of 'Goldwin' with 'Licht Leys', BE14-6072660, a direct Frans Leys, and morther of 'Yazoo', 2nd Nat. Ace Pigeon KBDB 2017 and 'Anneke', 11th Nat. Ace Pigeon KBDB 2018.
