Arie Dijkstra (Oudwoude, NL) is grateful for his auction and provides an update on his health

Now that the dust around Arie Dijkstra's auction has gradually settled, he would like to thank PIPA and the buyers and also speak openly about his personal health and future in the pigeon sport.

I would like to thank the entire PIPA team and employees for the good cooperation and care  regarding my auction. Special thanks to Sjoerd Lei, with whom all preparations and close contacts have taken place.

I was recently diagnosed with cancer. It's a melanoma that has spread to the lymph in my groin. It will become clear in the coming time how and what the treatment will be. What is certain is that I will face an uncertain time with therapy, surgery and control. I have no intention of stopping our beautiful pigeon sport. But what is clear is that I will have to slow down and everything will be put on the back burner.

Finally, I would like to thank all the buyers of my pigeons for the trust they have placed in my pigeons. I am convinced that we will hear a lot more from these pigeons in the future. I wish you every success with your new acquisitions.
