The Talent Classic
In the Netherlands, there is an ongoing attempt to add some flair to the national Concours. This includes name changes to turn every race into a Grand Prix. This last weekend the first Grand Prix race took place for the young birds, namely Nieuwe Oogst. Melun was chosen as the release site for the Talent Classic for the members of Brabant 2000. 306 members brought 4903 pigeons to the starting line. The birds had to contend with a northern wind. Thus fanciers favoured the young birds that had showcased their ability to perform weeks earlier as contenders for the number 1 spot. Brabant 2000 found an excellent winner with Peter Theunis. With 1138 mpm his Blue Diamond passed the 351 kilometres with flying colours.
Before we showcase the victors to you, we ask for your attention towards the fantastic results that Peter Theunis has been achieving this year with the young birds. It has been an ongoing phenomenon since the seasonal start on the 10th of July from Bierges. The amazing performance at Melun is really a logical follow-up. Below are the results from CC Westhoek '70 Rayon 2 of Brabant 2000;
Phenomenal results at Grand Prix Nieuwe Oogst Melun
The impressive chain results got a worthy addition at Melun. Below are the results of CC Westhoek '70 and of province Brabant 2000;

Millennium Star follow up of Blue Diamond

The father of Millenium Star is the Millennium Ace (11th National Ace Pigeon WHZB). That cock is a full brother of Grand Prix winner Blue Diamond and thus also a son of the Golden Pair. Once again in 2021, Peter Theunis has managed to set the bar with his young birds. Where many struggles to get their young birds into shape, it seems to go naturally with Peter. Much energy is invested in the young birds and in early stadia, they are trained to deal with all weather conditions. During the young bird season, there is also a strict selection. The young birds are given Theunis mixes.
Companion Jan Timmermans sets down a solid performance from Frisia
That Theunis' pigeons have an easy time dragging in victories and nearly guarantee good results is underlined by pigeon companion Jan Timmermans (Donkerbroek, NL). Under the name J & S Timmermans he wins in sector 11 Frisia '96 the Grand Prix race from Reims against 6769 pigeons and has no less than four pigeons in the top six. All four are mainly descendants from Peter Theunis’ pigeons;
Two weeks left
There are two tests of strength left on the race calendar for Peter’s young birds. For two more weeks, Peter stands ready to finish this excellent season with an appropriate conclusion for both the old birds, but primarily the young birds.
