Not many people can say that in 5 years’ time they’ve won 4 times the 1. Prov. Ace Pigeon Allround KBDB. But Rino can definitely say that!
Also, in the national championships of the KBKB in the middle distance, in the last 5 seasons, Rino has taken significant steps forward. If you are looking for a loft that is on the rise, Rino’s loft is the place to be! Not to mention the following consecutive KBDB champion titles:
Jommeke
The number one of Rino Verheye’s colony is undoubtedly "Jommeke" (BE16-3005665) 1. Prov. Ace Pigeon KBDB, both in 2016 and 2017! A real treasure, bred from "Hells Angel" BE14-3003419 and Rino’s stock dam: "Sister Baron" BE08-3166809.
Hells Angel won 5 x 1st and became 4th Prov. Ace Pigeon KBDB 2017. Sister Baron is - as her name indicates - a sister of Luc Senaeve’s Baron. This star racer won 52 prizes in 5 years, of which 36 prizes per 10. With Sister Baron, Rino brought pure breeding gold to his lofts. In the meanwhile, this stock dam is also the mother of among others:
The first child that was ever bred with Jommeke, the BE17-3029723 immediately won the 1. Prov. Brionne against 4,440 pigeons.
The nest brother of Jommeke is Jerommeke, BE16-3005666. Jerommeke, too, flew extremely well with among others 1. Fontenay 201 p. and 14. Nat. Gueret 5,331 pigeons.
Since 2016, 53 of Rino’s pigeons classified among the provincial ace pigeons. In 2020 alone, 26 pigeons already classified at the provincial ace pigeons. An overview:
In the pedigrees of these provincial ace pigeons, the mother of Jommeke, BE08-3166809 makes her appearance several times. She is:
- grand-mother of BE20-3062056, BE19-3035932 and BE19-3036007
- great-grand-mother to BE20-3062107, BE20-3062108, BE15-3006541, BE18-3070813, BE18-3070938, BE19-3035912, BE20-3062018, BE20-3062047
- great-great-grand-mother of BE20-3062098, BE20-3062037, BE20-3062038, BE20-3062045
- great-great-great-grandmother of BE20-3062105
- A full brother of "Jommeke" ("Maestro", BE19-3035966) coupled to a full sister of the father of "Jommeke" (the BE18-3070819) are parents of BE20-3062095. And BE19-3035915 is a grandson of “Jommeke”.

The future looks bright
What Rino Verheye has been able to achieve in recent years shows great class. He is setting a new standard in the middle distance, and with the breeding line around Jommeke it looks like it’s gonna be tougher and tougher to compete Rino in the coming years. It’s up to the opponents to try and grow to that same level. Easier said than done!
