Joël Verschoot (Ingelmunster, BE) wins 1st Prov. Montélimar olds

Joël Verschoot managed to claim a provincial victory for the second week in a row, this time in Montélimar with the old birds.

Being successful in pigeon racing often comes down to details. It takes a blend of good fitness and a talented pigeon. If you have both aspects dialed in, you could have a chance of winning. And Joël Verschoot has won quite a few pigeon races in his career, both in the past and in the 2020 season.

Joël had already won a 1st Provincial Issoudun of 2,489 yearlings with racing hen New Betsy in the weekend of 18th of July. And the next victory for the superstar from Ingelmunster in West Flanders came rather quickly: he was victorious again the very next week, in the national long distance race from Montélimar.

Joël Verschoot took part in this race from the Rhône Valley with a very small basket: he brought in no more than two pigeons. And one of them, his first nominated, claimed a 1st Prov. Montélimar of 159 old birds and a 73rd National of 3,778 old birds..

Winning a provincial first prize two weeks in a row, we reckon it makes him hope for even more. And who knows what is yet to come for the Verschoot pigeon family in the coming few weeks. His pigeons tend to have an edge over their opponents in demanding conditions. They have demonstrated this repeatedly in recent years, as they went on to claim victory in Brive, Agen, Pau and Angoulême. Are they ready for another spectacular win? You never know with the Verschoot pigeons. Congratulations, Joël.
