Robert Zgud – 38 pigeons – 3,720 euro/pigeon
Polish fancier Robert Zgud sold a collection of top class birds from some of the best breeds in Western Europe, including Gunter Prange, Bart Geerinckx, Gaby Vandenabeele, and Albert Derwa. This lot of 38 pigeons was sold for an impressive 141,375 euro. The most expensive pigeons were a youngster of Rudy, which goes to China for 10,800 euro, a daughter of New Bliksem, which goes to China as well for 10,600 euro, and a son of Gladiator, sold to another Chinese fancier for 9,400 euro. In fact, 9 out of 10 of the most expensive pigeons were sold to Chinese fanciers. The 38 pigeons were sold to fanciers from the following countries: China (18), the United Kingdom (6), Japan (5), Taiwan (4), USA (2), Kuwait (1), Belgium (1), and Switzerland (1).
Comb. Verbree – 10 pigeons – 1,205 euro/pigeon
The Verbree Combination sells a group of young birds from their best breeders on PIPA every season. The most expensive youngster was sale 2, a daughter of Caprina. She goes to a Belgian loft for 1,900 euro. Her nest mate was sold for 1,600 euro to a Dutch fancier, making her the second msot expensive bird. The 10 pigeons raised 12,050 euro in total, and they will be moving to China (4), The Netherlands (4), Belgium (1) and the United Kingdom (1).
Jo Bauters – 17 pigeons – 3,268 euro/pigeon
Jo Bauters has been one of the leading players in Belgium in the longer middle distance and the long distance for quite some time now. He sold a select group of young birds from his best breeders, along with some great champions, including Eria, 5th National Ace Pigeon KBDB longer middle distance young birds 2017. Eria atrracted a lot of interested buyers but she was eventually sold to a Chinese fancier for 30,500 euro. The most expensive young bird was sale 6, a full sister of Ellis, 1st Nat. Ace Pigeon KBDB longer middle distance YBs 2016; she goes to China for 3,600 euro. The 17 pigeons were sold for 55,550 euro in total, and they will be moving to Belgium (9), China (5) and Japan (3).
Patrick & Dimitri Houfflyn – 7 pigeons – 971 euro/pigeon
Father & son Houfflyn sold 3 racing birds and 4 youngsters in a smaller auction. The most expensive bird was sale 1, which goes to China for 1,800 euro. The 7 pigeons are going to Taiwan (2), the United Kingdom (2), China (1), Japan (1) and Belgium (1), raising 6,800 euro in total.
Jan & Joke Kaman – 37 pigeons – 2,186 euro/pigeon
Jan & Joke Kaman are a household name in the one day long distance in The Netherlands. They had a fantastic 2018 season and they decided to sell their racing team on PIPA. The final result is an impressive 80,900 euro. The most expensive pigeon was Wondere Anton, 3rd Nat. Ace Pigeon WHZB/TBOTB 2018, which goes to China for 11,200 euro. The second most expensive bird is sale 1, Lei, winner of a 1st NPO Chateauroux. He goes to a renowned Dutch loft for 11,000 euro. The 37 pigeons will be going to The Netherlands (8), China (7), Taiwan (7), the United Kingdom (7), Belgium (6) and France (1).
Dirk Deroose – 10 pigeons – 3,330 euro/pigeon
Dirk Deroose had a fabulous average sale price for his 10 young birds. Despite not being able to race much in 2018 due to a Newcastle Disease outbreak, the average sale price was a lot higher compared to last year's auction: no less than 33,300 euro for 10 young birds. The most expensive bird was sale 1, a full sister of Marcel, 1st National Chateauroux, which goes to China for 5,200 euro. The second and third most expensive birds are a brother and sister: two youngsters of Witpen Rivaldo, sold both for 5,200 euro to the same Taiwanese fancier. The 10 pigeons will be moving to a new loft in China (6), Taiwan (2) and Belgium (2).
Geoff & Catherine Cooper – 18 pigeons – 1,836 euro/pigeon
The likeable combination from the United Kingdom has been selling their pigeons exclusively on PIPA for quite some time now. They are considered to be the best pigeon loft in the UK over the past 20 years, and they have an excellent reputation worldwide. The result is another very successful auction, with 18 young birds being sold for 33,050 euro overall. The most expensive young bird is a youngster of their two international winners Farmer George x Wollongong; it goes to the United Kingdom for 5,200 euro. The second most expensive bird is a youngster of Evie, which goes to Taiwan for 3,400 euro. The 18 youngsters are going to Taiwan (7), the United Kingdom (7), China (2), Saudi Arabia (1) and the Czech Republic (1).
Freialdenhofen & Sons – 14 pigeons – 1,364 euro/pigeon
Heinz-Josef and his two sons Heiko & Dirk Freialdenhofen are among the best players in Germany and Western Europe in the extreme long distance. This team is completely centered around Forrest Gump. The most expensive bird was sale 1, a youngster of 1st Int. Pau Forrest Junior; this bird goes to Canda for 2,600 euro. The 14 pigeons raised 19,100 euro in total, and they will be moving to Canada (3), Belgium (3), the United Kingdom (2), Taiwan (2), Italy (2), USA (1), and China (1).
Hadrien Marsille – 9 pigeons – 1,450 euro/pigeon
This talented young fancier from Wallonia auctioned pigeons for the first time on PIPA and he did quite well, with 13,050 euro for 9 pigeons. He sold 8 youngsters and 1 racing bird, which was also the most expensive bird in auction: it goes to China for 2,300 euro. The 2 most expensive youngsters are two nest mates, bred from a son of Harry x a daughter of Rudy; they were both sold for 1,900 euro, to a Belgian and a Chinese fancier. The 9 pigeons were sold to fanciers from China (4), Taiwan (2), Belgium (2), and the United Kingdom (1).
