A successful combination
It sounds like a holy trinity. The three fanciers Van Muylder-Noël-Demul agreed to join forces two years ago, to combine their talents. Nico Van Mylder is a born and bred sportsman passionate about winning. A former cyclist, he knows it takes a lot of motivation and preparation and a solid basis to achieve great results. Eric Demul from the neighbouring town of Malderen is the disciplined loft manager in this team, and Eddy Noël, known for his expertise in pigeon feed, joined the team as well. He proved to be of vital importance to this team. Nico can also count on his brother Kris to get all the work done.

Buggenhout is in the geographical centre of Belgium, which means the weather conditions have a relatively small impact on this loft, although that might be a bit short sighted. Their loft is located along the borders of the provinces of East Flanders, Brabant and Antwerp, in central Belgium. Make no mistake: it takes top quality pigeons in great form to win top prizes in this area of the country as well.
This team's pigeon collection is based around pigeons of Engels (Putte), Gommaar Verbruggen (Scherpenheuvel), De Maeyer (Lippelo), Luc Houben (Itegem), Leo Heremans, Bart & Nance Van Oeckel and Van den Abbeel-Noël-Willockx.
Successful both with the old and the young birds
Only a select number of lofts have been able to achieve great results in different competitions. It takes fanciers with a strong and well balanced basis and a solid approach to win prizes in more than one discipline, and it appears that this team has what it takes. These are great results indeed. This team’s focus and dedication has led to equally impressive results in the young birds’ loft.
Caretaking - leaving nothing to chance
As with any successful loft, this pigeon collection (66 old cocks and hens and approximately 80 young birds) is taken great care of. The fanciers receive advice from three veterinary surgeons, and they rely on products of Matador and Backs for nutrition. Still, they try to keep the use of medicines to a strict minimum. Healthy and intelligent pigeons should do the trick for the team from Buggenhout.
This pigeon family has gradually worked its way to the top, and we are expecting this breed to achieve many more great results in the middle distance and the longer middle distance in the years to come!
