The seventh and final International race of the season for the British International Championship Club was held on the 3rd of August from Perpignan.

The winners of the British International Championship Club from Narbonne were the father and son partnership, Geoff and Clayton Preece from Dover with “Nellie” a two year old hen that is considered to be the second pigeon ever, to be recorded on the day from Narbonne into the UK.

The fifth International race of the British International Championship Club program was held on the 19th July from Marseille and were liberated along with 10,029 pigeons at 5:35am UK time with them all heading home to five different European countries.

Mark Gilbert was hopeful of a bird on the day, although the northerly wind was against the pigeons over most of the 539 miles (868 km) his entries had to fly home.

Barcelona is the blue ribbon race for the British International Championship Club as it is the longest race for all members. It is run in conjunction with the Barcelona International and this year 16,000b were liberated on the 5th July at 8:50am UK time.

Après avoir été lâchés à 08h15, les pigeons ont dû faire face à un léger vent de face soufflant de secteur nord-est et ce durant pratiquement tout leur parcours en France. Evidemment, les premiers pigeons tombés en France ne sont arrivés qu'en début de soirée au dessus de Paris.

The British International Championship Club race from Agen was flown in conjunction with the FCI International on the 29th June. Just under 1,000 birds from the UK contributed to the twenty-two thousand entries from other European countries, with many fanciers entering yearlings for their first International experience.

Having been released at 7:15am British Time, the pigeons had to face a light head wind from the north east through most of France and indeed it was not until evening time that the French began to make their recordings around the Paris area.
