Vanhoudt-Serre (Diest, BE) claims title of 1st Provincial Ace Pigeon Longer Middle Distance after a season with many top prizes

Benny and Bart Vanhoudt and Freddy Serré started the 2017 racing season with no more than 20 racing hens. By the end of the summer they had won 14 first and 9 second prizes, resulting in a championship title both in the union and the province. This is an impressive feat from a small team.

Numerous top prizes and titles

The provincial ace hen of Benny, Bart and Freddy has clearly taken the most of her excellent origins:

Sire: BE13-2184919, from 077/08 (grandson Kaasboer) x 133/09 (sister Barbara)
This provincial ace pigeon shows to be coming from a world class bloodline: her sire 919/13 is a full brother of the sire of Fleurtje, winner of a 1st Prov. Châteauroux of 1,280 yearlings in Diest last year. The 077/08 is the brother of the dam of Blauwen Doffer (2nd Nat. La Souterraine for Schepmans-Hayen). His dam 259/04, a daughter of top breeder Kaasboer, was herself a talented racing hen and winner of a 1st Toury 2,007 p. and a 63rd Nat. Bourges 21,940 p. The 133/09 is a sister of Barbarawinner of 3 x 1st Provincial: 1st Prov. Montluçon 1,483 p., 1st Prov. Vierzon 3,409 p. (2nd Interprov. 11,062 p.) and 1st Prov. Argenton 1,213 p. (1st Zone 3,740 p. and 3rd Nat. 11,001 p.). She has the same dam as her partner 077/08: the highly renowned racing hen 259/04.

Dam BE13-6309908, from 815/12 (son Zwarte Diamant) x 412/11 F16 Raketje (daughter De Raket)
The 815/12 is a full brother of Miss Poznan (1st Olympiad Pigeon Cat. C Long Distance 2011 in Poznan) and she comes from Zwarte Diamant x sister Goudhaantje. Superkweker Zwarte Diamant (ras Geerinckx) is also the sire of BE09-6107016 F16 (1st Nat. La Souterraine 3,562 p., 5th Nat. Bourges 24,676 p., 10th Nat. La Souterraine 4,778 p., etc. for Bart & Nance Van Oeckel). This F16 is now the sire of several successful racing birds as well, including 672/12 Diamant Froome (1st Prov. Ace Pigeon Longer Middle Distance). Click here for some more top references of F16 and his sire Zwarte Diamant. The 412/11 F16 Raketje in turn comes from BE10-6173190 De Raket (1st Nat. Bourges 45,297 p. for Jan Van Oeckel, the sire of Bart) x 02/844 Super Kleintje (the dam of F16, 1st Nat. La Souterraine 3,562 p.).

Both the sire and the dam of the provincial winner come from a number of renowned bloodlines that have bred numerous talented racing birds. Click here for New Barbara's full pedigree.

A national win or a title in 2018?

Benny, Bart and Freddy have shown with their palmares that there is plenty of quality in their breeding loft, including the very best of such renowned breeds as Van De Wouwer, Van Eynde-Goovaerts, Van Oeckel and Geerinckx. These have enabled them to claim five provincial victories and 2 x 2nd National in recent years, and now a title of 1st Provincial Ace Pigeon. The only two feats still lacking on their palmares would be a national victory and a national title, and we think both would be a realistic ambition for 2018, given the potential of their team of breeders.
