Marc De Cock (Temse, BE) wins 4th Hot Spot Car Race in the South African Million Dollar Race

Offspring from the world-famous ace breeder Kaasboer (Gaston Van de Wouwer) seems to be taking over this year's Million Dollar Race in South Africa. In December, Floria Sorin (Romania) won the 2nd Hot Spot Car Race, now Belgian fancier Marc De Cock won the 4th Car Race with a youngster of which he sold the dam on PIPA two weeks ago.

Yesterday morning, 8 January, at 6am South African time all birds were liberated in good weather conditions for a race of 309 km. As the race progressed, the weather became overcast and pigeons encountered a light head with temperatures around 16 degrees Celsius. In the end, it was Marc De Cock's Kugelblitz (BE16-4252931) which won the race and a car, only just beating a Kuwaiti (2nd) and German (3rd) fancier.

Kugelblitz' sire is BE08-4221904 De Limoges, which won two first prizes, a second prize, a 15th Zonal Brive 1,581 b. and an 18th Provincial Tulle 1,605 b. in his career. The dam is an original Gaston Van de Wouwer and from her sire's side a granddaughter of Gaston's stock and world-renowned ace breeder Kaasboer. Her grandfather from her own dam's side is Uwe Berg's Olympiad bird (Germany). Marc De Cock sold Kugelblitz' dam in the PIPA's Collector's Edition auction two weeks ago. Kaasboer offspring conquer this year's Million Dollar Race

Marc De Cock's victory shows that the Kaasboer breed is currently conquering the 21st Million Dollar Pigeon Race. After all, it was Florea Sorin's Kaasboer descendant which won the 2nd Hot Spot Car Race in that same Million Dollar Race just three weeks ago.
