Eijerkamp Hans, "A world-wide pigeon empire in his lifetime"

Now aged 70 years of age, Dutchman Hans Eijerkamp can already look back at a glorious career in pigeon racing. His name in mentioned in the same breath as such legends as Janssen brothers, De Klak, Jan Aarden, Jef van Wanroy, etc. The only difference is Hans Eijerkamp created a pigeon empire that is bound to last for many more years, as both his sons Evert-Jan and Hans-Jaap continue the work of the grand master. An empire with no equal throughout the world. With also in the last years again supreme victories ... no one can keep up with the rockets from Brummen.

In active pigeon racing no mountain is to high for Eijerkamp and Sons. For decades now already the Eijerkamp story of success lasts without interruptions. It is even very fascinating to see how the pigeons at Greenfield Stud return home from a race with the precision of a Switch clock and how they manage to grab victory against even the biggest competition up until National level. Some of the most impressive victories of the last decade are without a doubt the best prove:

Top pigeons
While many breeding stations have breeding pigeons as their core business and do not test them on their own racing lofts (simply because they do not race), Greenfield Stud really does the opposite. Of all strains and breeding birds the youngsters are thoroughly tested on racing skills. They must perform at a very high level, because only then a certain strain or a certain bloodline can remain of the highest quality possible. Many sports friends believe they found out something new and can stay at the top forever when they once had a breeding pair that produced winners. This is however the greatest crap and Hans Eijerkamp realises it, better than anyone else! Therefore his birds already produce winners for such a long time now.

The base
The original strain must be of the highest class. Let us for instance take the Eijerkamp-Janssen strain .Janssen birds are now popular as never before. Eijerkamp-Janssen birds can ennable strains, make them faster, simply because they posses an unsurpassed ability in orientating. The question however is, how can the very best of Janssens be obtained. It is therefore interesting to see how Eijerkamp realised their own strain Eijerkamp-Janssen. The strain is based on the very best birds the Janssens had at the time. In the sixties Hans Eijerkamp in person build the foundation of this strain. And throughout the years the strain was constantly expand. Naturally only the very best lines were purchased, lines that performed outstanding at a very high level!

For racing the Eijerkamp-Janssen are often crossed to one of the other great pillars; Van Loon and Vandenabeele-Minderhoud. The Van Loons are superb for their perseverance, Eijerkamp always purchased the very best of them at Van Loon himself, but also many top Van Loon Aces at other fanciers ... They became top cross material to the Janssens. Of the last decade the Vandenabeele pigeons developed as a top strain at Eijerkamp, direct pigeons of Gaby together with Koen Minderhoud pigeons, whose total racing team was purchased in 2001. The three strains Eijerkamp-Janssen, Van Loon and Vandenabeele really showed to be of top class on the oneday races ... pure as well as in crossing.
