Karlo Van Rompaey (St.Truiden) now also wins 1st and 2nd National Libourne Old birds

A week after his stunt on Aurillac, Karlo repeats this feat on Libourne with 1st, 2nd National Old birds and 2nd, 4th, 9th National Yearlings.

1st and 2nd National again, this time on Libourne Old birds

Out of this world. It is difficult to describe the stunt of the Karlo Van Rompaey on the national long distance race from Aurillac any other way, winning 1st, 2nd National Old birds, and placing a total of 6 pigeons within the National Top 10 with:
1-2-6-70… National Aurillac 5,342 Old birds and 3-4-9-25-29-43-99-100… National Aurillac 6,512 Yearlings.

'A result so good it will be difficult to match, let alone do even better'...was concluded.

This conclusion was made too soon, and didn't consider what Karlo Van Rompaey was capable of. Just a week later, on the national long distance from Libourne (790km) he almost repeated his stunt Aurillac. Almost? Yes, but what's the difference? He again took 1st, 2nd National Old birds...only this time he didn't place 6 pigeons, but 5 pigeons in the National Top 10 and 10 pigeons in the National Top 100. Taking into account that Karlo basketed almost half the number of pigeons on Libourne compared to Aurillac, this lastest feat is certainly comparable to the previous one. The result from Libourne in numbers:

Libourne Nat. 3,880 Old birds: 1-2-98-243-321-40 (6/14)
Libourne Nat. 4,822 Yearlings: 2-4-9-18-54-75-76-195-573-1077-1079-1136 (12/22)

Two weeks in a row, leaving the whole of Belgium behind him on a national long distance race...truly incredible.

This team, after amazing achievements on Limoges and Aurillac, now stunts for the third time on Libourne. Let us introduce the key players further.

1st National Libourne Old birds with Madeleine Porsche

Once again it is the phenomenal Porsche bloodline of the PEC which plays the main role and delivers the national victory. What a phenomenal breeding line! The winner of 1st National Libourne - granddaughter Porsche 911 - is inbred to this golden Porsche bloodline. The father of Madeleine Porsche is the 1st National Jarnac winner. Would it be true that 1st Prize winners are bred from 1st Prize winners? ... a given that is decided because of genetics? The following certainly supports this claim:

- Madeleine Porsche BE21-4152607 (Hen)

1st Nat. Libourne 3,880 p. ’23
3rd Prov. Souillac 322 YL ’22 – 140th Nat 4,637 YL

32nd Prov. Tulle 667 p. ’22

2nd National Libourne Old birds with Kaasboer Porsche

What a super crack, a phenomenal racer. For the third time he wins a prize within the National Top 70, and now even climbs on the podium with silver. Beaten only by a loft mate with a 16 seconds difference. No wonder that he - Daan Porsche was not basketed after last week's victory - was basketed as 1st Nominated.

- Kaasboer Porsche BE21-4152056 (Cock)

2nd Nat. Libourne 3,880 Old birds ’23 (behind loft mate)

2nd National Libourne Yearlings with Laureaat Porsche

Another super which achieved this result. She manages to win National Top 10 prizes two weeks in a row. Will she manage a third time, and go for the title of National Ace Pigeon Long Distance Yearling KBDB? Across 2 long distance races for yearlings this Laureaat Porsche is currently (after Libourne) in pole position, as number 1, the best of Belgium. She was basketed as 2nd Nominated after her top result last week.

- Laureaat Porsche BE22-4151115 (Hen)

2nd Nat Libourne ’23 – 4,822 YL
9th Nat. Aurillac ’23 – 6,512 YL

4th National Libourne Yearlings with Daughter Porsche 911

Yes, there is more. This 4th National winner is a direct daughter of wonder pigeon Porsche 911...extending the long list of national top results brought forth by this super breeder, stock pigeon with golden genes. Is this the best current bloodline in the world? No doubt.

9th National Libourne Yearlings with the winner of 1st Nat. Zone Limoges

The winner of 1st Zonal and 3rd Nat. Limoges, now wins another top result on a long distance race. She too is a descendant of the world-famous Porsche bloodline, crossed with the success lines of Ricky from Tom Van Gaver.

On his way to winning Ace Pigeon titles

Lastly, it is noteworthy that the yearling basketed as 1st Nominated - the BE22-4150583 - was the 4th yearling to be clocked (18th Nat. Libourne), and is currently ranked 2nd National Ace Pigeon Long Distance YL KBDB 2023. This is an exciting competition with 2 races still to come (from Souillac and Tulle).

-Bronze Aurillac BE22-4150583 (Hen)

3rd Nat. Aurillac ’23 - 6,512 YL

Curious to see what Karlo Van Rompaey can do on the final classics from Souillac and Tulle. With his pigeons in the form of their lives, the expectations are once again sky high.

Nonetheless, what Karlo Van Rompaey managed in the past two weeks is almost hard to imagine. Out of this world. Performances to remember, near impossible to match. It is true, the conditions have to be right, although first and foremost you need the pigeons which are 'capable' of such performances in the first place! Pigeons in peak condition, some call them 'super pigeons', can clearly do that something extra. These stunts - two weeks in a row - deserve a standing ovation!
