Van Rompaey Karlo (St-Truiden) wins 1st Zonal and 3rd National Limoges YL

Karlo managed to clock 9 pigeons - 6 yearlings and 3 old birds - within the Top 100 National! A great performance.

Peaking at the right moment is a characteristic many champions have. To perform at the top of the national level, pigeons have to be in 'top' shape at the right time and conditions have to be right. If the opportunity presents itself, you have to take it. That is exactly what Karlo Van Rompaey did on National Limoges of July 2nd, which was postponed one day due to rain on Saturday.

9 pigeons within the Top 100 National

With this feat, the Karlo Van Rompaey colony flew directly into the spotlights. From the 9 pigeons within the National Top 100, the first 6 to be clocked were yearlings, followed closely by 3 old birds. The other pigeons basketed on Limoges followed.

This led to the following result on National Limoges of Sunday 2nd July:

Limoges Club 314 Yearlings: 1-3-4-8-13-15-21-29-30-31-32-33-49-52-72-89-93-95-96-97 (20/55)
       Nat. Zone B2 2,030 YL: 1-7-8-16-29-41-86-126-128-129-144-154… (18/55)
      National 8,970 Yearlings: 3-11-13-22-47-69-184-300-304-306-367-406-712-810… (18/55)

Limoges Club 223 Old birds: 10-11-12-34-35-41-54-65-68 (9/14)
      National 7,211 Old birds: 57-59-63-… (9 /14)

The Zonal victory in the yearlings race made this result even more special.

1st Zonal and 3rd National Limoges Yearlings

The pigeon taking the victory and a National podium spot for the fancier from Sint-Truiden is a hen. Just like her other loft mates within the National Top 100, she comes directly from the PEC (PIPA Elite Center) from Knesselare. She too is a descendant from the world-famous Porsche line, crossed with the best from Tom Van Gaver. It was her 3rd top result in 2023, with two other prizes in the provincial Top 100, a statistic she extended to a national level on Limoges. Her results this season:

The Porsche 911 breeding gold of the PEC

A phenomenal bloodline at work. We may conclude that the Porsche 911 bloodline of the PEC is currently amongst the best, if not the best, in the world when it comes to middle and long distance racing...even though this line is also proving itself on extreme long distance races. For instance, Jelle Jellema managed a spectacular result on the International race from Agen. The pigeon that won 7th National Agen, is bred from a half-sister Porsche 911 (from Jef x Lieve). Hugo Batenburg-Van de Merwe win 31st National Bordeaux S2 against 3,931 pigeons, this pigeon has the same mother (half-sister Porsche 911) as the 7th National Agen at Jellema. Whilst PEC & Batenburg took 10th place in Hot Spot 4 of the Victoria Falls OLR, again with a direct descendant of this same Half-sister Porsche 911. This hen, born in 2021, has brought forth 3 top racers in her first year as a breeder. Is she the next stock hen laying 'golden eggs'?

With the Porsche 911 bloodlines, PEC houses breeding gold. Several fanciers have already benefitted from these world-class genes and amongst them is Karlo Van Rompaey. Karlo showed what a fantastic fancier he is on National Limoges II, racing many direct descendants of the golden Porsche 911 bloodlines from the PEC. Congratulation!
